i think i liked that one better than the first one. you should throw in some vocoded vocals in the middle there... something along the lines of daft punk ;) very cool stuff, though. keep 'em coming.

A good b-side too... :hihi: ... You have been busy...

I really like the drums in this. But I thought the vocals might have had too much echo (or maybe just too loud). I think I would have dropped one of the vocal take lines out... maybe only using the second to emphasize key words (In the same way that a lot of modern Hip Hop does).

But a very cool single..

BTW.. have you released an albums worth of stuff yet?

I've released nothing except the dream of doing music seriously. Making MP3 singles to share is an end in itself...

The vocals are rough and obnoxious I know but I wanted you to feel the angst. Hey, I put as much care in these two songs as any Black Flag or Dead Kennedy's piece. I don't feel like polishing them too much or they might ...be good or something :? I kind of wanted them to be Molotov Cocktails thrown into the disco.

Fair enough... As it stands it is a great track

Personally I reckon you should collate your best songs into a "greatest hits" album or something. I'd buy it... (or swap yah for one of mine! :hihi: )

You could name the album "For You" :hihi: .. for you by you .. you see :hihi:

Thanks Ben, that's really good to hear. the "You™" moniker probably wouldn't work as I hear some other band already has it - and they are a lot better than me! Actually I think they are just the letters Y - O - U... But in any case, I'm not sure what kind of band name I want attached. I like making up the band names and album covers as much as the songs. That's part of the process for me. I always thought if I did make a record, it would be a various artists album so I could use all the stupid names I have:

The Significant Others (I did a few this spring under that name)
The Prögenitors (my prog band has two songs)
The Shuttlecocks (gay astronaut sport pop?... the single has to be "Badminton")
Bog Standard (turd polishing music)
Children of the Nodes (math rock)
After School Special
The Alexandria Ersatz Orchestra
The Politburo or My Fellow Americans (agitpop)
Turing Machine or Tourmaline (my "old" band names)
Baby Rattlesnakes (some Dj and remix stuff I did)
Roughshod (loud heavy music I've done)
Chicxulub (my Latin/lounge music)

and my favorite:

Radiophonic Workshop

...of course they could all just be song titles. My friend and frequent collaborator Homestyle Cheesy contributes a tremendous amount to many of the songs and he likes the various artist approach too. In the past we came really close to making a record. We had a couple CDs worth of instrumental material before '99 that almost got finalized, but life superseded things and then we lost interest, and then I started hanging out here and trying vocal songs and....

I like getting feedback on the music I post and I often plan to spiff the songs up - but for what? Posterity? My family and friends don't even listen to my songs much. I don't know what to do with them. I don't seriously consider selling my entertainment. It's just an expensive hobby (remember, I do have a Macintosh too! ;)). I'm only to happy to share and I'm grateful for your encouragement.

Well... Spiff up your favorite 10 - 20 songs, get someone to master them and burn 50+ CD's to give away to friends and family (of course sending a copy my way ;) )... Then you have a final glossy product and a "performance" that will draw a line under those songs. I wasn't thinking of a Professional, "buy in the shops" CD (though I can imagine your stuff doing well there too). just a homemade, small run CD would still be a good thing...:).

However good Mp3's are from the cafe. They do tend to just get thrown away by me. I download on my works laptop, listen, forget about them, and delete them when my harddrive get's too full.. If I had a CD... i'd revisit it every once in a while. It's not so throw-away-able. And of course I'd get to listen to it in better quality. :hihi:

I must be a pack rat. I keep nearly everything I download. Got 'em all in iTunes - with art and comments too... I hardly get CD's out except to encode them or look at the packaging - which is always nice.

Well I'll consider the CD - and I'll definitely send you a copy. :)

Oh yeah, this should definately be the A Side as well. Makes sense to have Mission Accomplished to close everything. ;) But this song is just to damn funky to bury it on a B Side. Kinda Dub, Disco, Funk, Rock everything all wrapped into one! :D Very unique tone and rythem to this, as well as the vocals. Dare I say almost Smash Mouth meets Rage Against The Machine - but very slick and savvy delivery. Great use of the delay effects and all as well. Would like to see an 'extended version' of this. That's one solid groove you got going! :hihi:

Top notch! :hail:

"an anthem of greed" well i don't know what you mean by that, but it sounds hi-tech  "whatever vsts you used, i *must* have them!"

I'm pretty sure Crunk-ball was used in the final mix

Thanks! I make 'em. I drew most of this (Sidewinder missile, insignia) in Illustrator and composited it with an explosion image I found on some US Army / Sandia Lab web page. I'm a visual artist in 'real-life.' Making pictures for my songs is as important as mastering to me. That's partly why I finish them.

sidewinder: I like it very much! my only feedback might be to lower the vocals a bit to highlight the funky guitar. 8)

What a great tune :) Gonna' d/l the other one now.

The fact that you created both the art and the music fills me with the greenest envy :D Thanks for these :)
