Don't want to make a mess asI thought I was sure it was this way.
Now I have doubts :?
It was made very clear in the terms I recall that if you sold the base product that all the group buy freebies were lost.
That seems reasonable to me which is unusual for IKM.

yup. that is how it works. and that is how it should be. it would be totally daft to be able to sell one product that allowed you to get 9 free ones and keep the free ones. the buy & sell section would be flooded. it's already flooded with people peddling freebies for $5.

I think the operative clause would be: "Note that qualifying product must remain registered in your IK account to retain eligibility."

But I haven't tested this.

Would having that arrangement be the key for realism with it? I haven't demoed it yet, but I should have it soon as part of TS2 MAX.
frankly if you play the seaboard well, you can probably play bass. Get a bass for 100$, it's well worth learning to play bass not only from perspective of tracking your bass, but from perspective of understanding the rhythm section.
I am a bass player. Well, it's been 20 years since I seriously played. Then these two words hit: "Carpal Tunnel". I've tried over the years to pick it up again and it just hurts too much. Now I'm to the point I need to wear special wrist braces at night to prevent them from hurting so much.

I filled that survey. I'm a bit ashamed about the last question I answered.. "What does bbc mean to you" :dog:
They won't email, they just add it to your account which you should have been logged into when you filled in the survey

The BBC question, I answered truthfully - TV License, that's what it means to me :hihi:

Yup, I've heard "it pays off to learn to play the actual instrument and track yourself actually playing" many times in this forum. I'm a guitar player and I love playing my guitar, and still guitar VSTs have their place in my productions. The reasons are many--carpal tunnel, cleanliness, ease to tweak phrases/melodies/harmonies, copy/paste, no need to edit, right on tempo, etc. I actually would say "learn to play the actual instrument (if feasible! I'll never learn to play a violin) so that you can rock that VST in a more realistic way." The best programmed drums I've ever heard come from drummers. Same for other instruments.

I find it cross-fertalises to an extent because you can manipulate MIDI while playing a guitar sound VST and come up with great ideas for riffs to play on the guitar you may never have thought of. As for buying a bass, I bought an inexpensive Yamaha bass and I end up playing bass like a guitarist, nobody wants to hear that. Well nobody wants to hear any of my stuff, but especially that!

Are you safe?

I think of the the News before anything else... but them asking it meant they are well aware of the other meaning too and now I'm hoping they can share the results of this survey.

OMG I just realized that BBC can have another meaning.
You bunch of filthy VST addict ;-) :D

well shit. :/
since i also play both, i prefer using seaboard for synth basses - or "bass guitar like synth" basses because it responds much better to it than to samples

no, i played guitars for 12 years, guitar is garbage nobody needs to learn the guitar. What i said only applies to bass

but yes, learning the basics of an instrument will help you make more realistic programming of its VSTs

You are high as a kite. I am a guitar player. A guitar player can create guitar parts that are 1000x more interesting and intricate than what you are limited to with a VST.

The same applies to a real bass player. I do my own bass lines on machine or midi controller using VSTs. But the reality is, a real bass player can run circles around what I can put together using midi and VSTs. She/he has the entire physics of a bass guitar neck and strings to move around octaves in at split seconds notice with minimal effort. You could try to mimic it poorly, but bottom line, you could spend 24 hours trying to mimic on midi what a bass guitar player can do in 5 minutes. When you take into factor that time is money and time is not something you can buy back.

yeah sure but guitar is shit conceptually, so 1000x0 (as 0 is what guitar is worth) is still pretty much 0.

My half-joke guitar-trolling aside, i absolutely agree.

Has someone released a Jaco sample library yet or Jimi MODO by IKM? :scared:

How can you mess that up? It's Doctor Who, of course. :)
