Macro to markIn on the fly

If I've missed what I consider to be basic recording functionality, someone please point me to how to do it. Currently (10.4.2) hitting 'I' while playing a track inserts the markIn where the cursor's sitting - as per

Code: Select all

Tracktion.markIn();
- not where the transport is, whereas inserting the markIn via 'Run script/Basic actions/Markers/Mark in' places it where the transport is, which is the intuitive approach. It's probably possible to create a macro to save that menu trek, but my javascript is bad, and any shortcut will use two fingers. Any suggestions? Possible to write a macro to use 'I' the way I'd like, i.e. insert markIn using something like

Code: Select all

Tracktion.setPosition ('transport', 0.0);
? Is this an outrageous expectation?
Thanks!
Ps - I seem to recall T6 was like what I want here.

So... Tracktion sent out an email a couple days ago - 'Get to know Waveform: Edit Cursor Feature Highlight' - a Bill Edstrom video in which he shows how to select/deselect the 'Use the edit cursor position for editing operations' option in the Settings page. I recall that feature being shown when they launched v10, but I overlooked the toggle. Perhaps v10 had that selected by default, perhaps not. My work here is done :wink:
