... I'd like to have a "Granulator" or "Fragulator" in the master effects, the kind you find it in Pluggo, or at Smartelectronics.

Why not abandon all the PC port efforts and build a nice fragulator? (Now wasn't that a good one...)

Best, Ulrich

BTW all you others, where are all your patches?

Hiya,

what do these plugins do? Do you have some dry/wet mp3 examples for me?

And... btw... the rumoured G-device is close to be finished. A couple of selected beta testers is already freakin out about it :D For example, it contains probably the first 4-band parametric eq/filter bank with over 200 parameters that is still *very* easy to use...

Cheers,

;) Urs

P.S.: I *will* release PC versions. The technical requirements are already met, and next week is implementation workshop!

Let's see.. a freeware AU granulator is there:
http://koen.smartelectronix.com/

but this is already veery complex. I found this description:
"incoming (mono) sound is fed into a delay line from which small pieces of various durations and at different moments in the past are selected. Each of these pieces is then amplified, transposed and enveloped to form a "grain". Each grain is also randomly panned and the whole mix is sent out to a stereo output stream. Feedback of the grain output back into the delay line is also provided, and the delay line can also be frozen so that the grains are only taken from what is currently stored in the delay line." - Crazy!

As long as the playbach rate of the grains or the buffer is not altered, the result is a digitally roughened, "granulated" sound... For my taste, not all kinds of randomisation are so important. GreanOak's freeware Crystal has a simple feature like this in it's voice architecture, too (if you select a sound font as waveform).

I will try to post a sound example soon, if you are interested.

THere's nothing speaking against putting a Plug-In after the Zebra instrument, but I imagine nice effects with the X/Ys and LFOs and such. Maybe even modulate the grain playback rate by the Keyboard - ?

Best, Ulrich

(and of course those poor IBM-Compatible MS-Dos Musicians should be blessed with Zebras first. ;)
