+1 :tu:
Even the Init preset is marvelous.
Mighty, lively, breathing.
Yes, it is also the synth I like the best, among U-he synths that is.
I wonder why it is so much cheaper than the others...

it's basically Bazille junior. :) it has OSC hard sync that bazille doesn't.

BONES wrote: Tue May 12, 2020 12:17 pm No, it doesn't, and that's a provable fact. Try, for example, "extreme" resonance on any synth using Moog's famous ladder filter and the analogue behaviour you will get is to lose all the bottom end from your sound. That won't happen with a digital filter, unless the developer does it on purpose. And the 24dB filter on an OB series synth is the worse=t but you also get it on pretty much all Moog synths. That's not "better", it's unwanted behaviour that was a compromise Bob Moog had to make at the time.
I find it appropriate that the bass is reduced when resonance is set to max. Actually, I think the entire volume of the patch should go down accordingly to prevent damage.

I never thought of it that way, not least because Bazille sounds a bit cold and harsh to me, it isn't an analog type synth like Ace.

Because it is analogue-ish, but its a close cousin of bazille :)

this sums it up well:

I own both, and imo both are under-rated.

Actually, they were both part of an old project Urs had called Berlin Modular. An ACE extended (or ACE Pro, or ACE XL, whatever) was planned, but never released. As well as another modular which also never got out of Urs head (AFAIK)

So yeah, they are like cousins, with a planned bigger brother of ACE that may (or not) appear anytime in the future.

I believe ACE and Bazille are very different! The only similarity is the cables! They have different synthesis and different character absolutely!
Using: Cubase Pro 15, Reason 13, Tascam US-4x4HR, MODX6, DM12D, LaunchKey 49, Yamaha guitar(Pacifica 612v) and bass (BB234) and some virtual instruments and synths.

Ace I understand intuitively, with Bazille, however, I didn't know what to do when I tested it a long time ago.

Sunrizer is underrated, almost unknown but it can do some sweet pads.

Well, the beauty of ACE is that it's semi-modular. No need to play around with rerouting if you don't want to. Not sure why you'd buy it if you don't want to explore that but you have a pretty firm grounding already in the principles out of the box.
