I can "merge" midi parts togather. But its possible for audio?

Audio parts refer to audio files. If you would merge 2 audio parts that refer different audio files, then that would mean that a new audio file has to be created. To do so, select the audio parts you want to merge and choose Project menu -> Render Parts As New Audio Part. (that's using the most recent M8.6 beta version).
