I'm on Catalina... Massive X crashes 10.5

Post

And I'm on Mohave and it doesn't, for me. However I also know someone else who is on Mohave and has a very similar system but it is crashing for him and we have both tried the same set of tests (changing presets fast etc) - it crashes every time for him but not once so far for me. So there must be something more going on but not sure what it is.

I'm on Mojave. The Mod pack (Phasis, Choral, Flair) all beachball for me. ReplikaXT, MassveX and Raum do not.

Yeah, same for me, although ModPack seems to be unstable in several hosts on Mac right now so that may not be Logic specific.

It might be more Catalina than LPX.5. Purely anecdotal, but I haven’t encountered any plugins misbehaving in Mojave.
afaik it's a combo of catalina and 10.5.0
I'm pretty sure someone earlier in this thread said they had the issue but they're not on Catalina.
i've seen people on mojave report that Massive X works fine there

Hi there,
Apple recently released an update to Logic Pro X – Logic Pro X 10.15.

If you’re using MASSIVE X, CRUSH PACK, MOD PACK, REPLIKA or REPLIKA XT, you might encounter some issues or crashes after updating.

We’re already working on a fix, which we’ll share with you as soon as we can. Check our support area for the latest.

We’ll keep you updated.

Best wishes,
Native

Yes, you’re welcome.
There are two kinds of people in the world. And you're not one of them.

It doesn't follow that Catalina is responsible when people on earlier versions also have the issue, even if some don't.

It’s NI that are probably at fault. Fantastic company, brutal been counters behind them. Mostly they do OK but if there’s any possibility of issues with an upgrade or OS update, they’re first in line for issues, this is nothing new.
A hot fix update will take care of it I bet.

Post

NI were quick to say they will provide a fix with no finger pointing at anyone else, so I would imagine they know the problem is on their side.

Post

Relab had issues and rushed out an update. Kush is advising users not to update. NI working on an update.

Post

I don't know Relab, but man that's a quick turnaround on a fix.

A decade? I think you might want to take another look at what other DAWs had in 2010...
At least decent Step sequencer, drum rack, Sampler are existing for long.

You didn't notice the drum rack and sampler in the previous version?

Just be relieved that we've been given a tentative thumbs up. Phew.

BTW, Live got a built-in step sequencer when...?
I lost my heart in Cap de Creus

That was the whole meaning of “modernized ones existing in other daws for decade”
