Again, what does this mean? What does it do differently? Please explain.

assuming you try the "follow action" workaround and
you've set up a row of empty, ready-to-record clips.

all are linked by "follow actions" and loop endless.
this happens if you set the clip at the bottom of the
row to [jump] "first".

now assign wether a keyboard (qwertz) or a midi-signal
to the first clip. as the track is armed, recording
will start upon your input (can even be a midi-note
as someone said here).

thus you have an "instant hot" record track and you
can work with other tracks as you like/need.

to me there's one big difference to other hosts:

you can rapidly create variations of a take especially
with loop-oriented material. you can start anything
at any time. whilst this atomclock goes on and on and o...

its tight loop-handling is the key, if you ask me.

Clip actions is obviously one of the coolest functions, but there is very little info about it in the manual... I'd like to see some more real life examples of someone creating a complete song in Live using both the session and arrange view (like a video)... I've been through the tutorials on the website, but I think they cover more techniques for loop manipulation rather than actual song construction/composition... That's what I have failed to pin down... It does seem like I have to activate too much stuff manually in session view, though... Hmmm?
