After market foglamps are like buying an expansion board or cartridge. Like plugging in a Moss board into a Triton. Now imagine if your car had cruise control disabled by default and you had to purchase a software key from your local dealership to enable it.WatchTheGuitar wrote: Fri May 15, 2020 1:02 pmThis is more like buying after-market foglamps for a car. I bought it already, that is a good deal at that price.

OK, if you insist, imagine if that software key was linked to a non zero cost license so if you sign up to use the cruise control you have to pay $x to developer Z.v1o wrote: Sat May 16, 2020 10:40 amAfter market foglamps are like buying an expansion board or cartridge. some cars have a speed limiter that you have to pay the manufacturer to have removed.v1o wrote: Sat May 16, 2020 10:40 am After market foglamps are like buying an expansion board or cartridge. imagine if you bought an operating system for a computer, and it came in several versions, with names like "home basic," "home," "with bing," "pro," "enterprise," "server," and "ultimate. Imagine if they were all exactly the same, except you had to pay money to activate features already in there like RDP or joining domains. .. Imagine if you had to buy "client access licenses" to allow people to connect to your computer, or else you're limited to 5 simultaneous connections for no reason except to force you to upgrade. Imagine it was called, "Windows." (or photoshop, or oracle, or sql server, or salesforce, or IIS, or any distributed computing application or service)

Imagine your cable provider was transmitting all 150 channels to your home anyway and your cable box was able to decode all of them but you could only watch the ones in the bundle you pay for and had to pay more to watch more channels with the same hardware!

Tesla does exactly that with their autopilot. By making it a separate purchase, it allows them to sell the cars for a lower price initially and then customers can upgrade at a later date when they can afford it.v1o wrote: Sat May 16, 2020 10:40 am Now imagine if your car had cruise control disabled by default and you had to purchase a software key from your local dealership to enable it.
The Waldorf Blofeld Module sells for $580 less than the Keyboard. Part of that lower price is because the Sample License isn’t included.

Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man

What is with the Shreddage coupons? Two people have posted them in NO CHAT, but they don't actually work.

Have new Shreddage instruments ever been $25?
Maybe someone got a coupon for Precision because of others they already own, but the coupons can only be used once or by the person they're issued to?

I think that is supposed to be $25 off $149. I read it wrong as well. At any rate, the coupons do not work even for $25 off. Another post at vi-control states "$25 OFF ImpactSoundWorks Shreddage 3 on Upgrade From Free version" for the same codes.

Lol - never missed the capability of the Blofeld to play samples at all; but jumped on the deal (like: $23 USD - no-brainer) - i can roll my own samples into it - nobody’s forcing me to buy any sample soundset/preset combos - their Spectre software allows me to build what I want. I see it as a really fun add-on; not a core feature.WatchTheGuitar wrote: Fri May 15, 2020 1:02 pmThis is more like buying after-market foglamps for a car. I have Bitwig 1 and plan to upgrade. Is there some known extra discount coupon or anything for it?
Thanks

Just curious, how do any of you typically make out with your WTB posts? Mixed bag, usually get a hit? Or does it depend on the item you're looking for? Do you find that prices favor the seller, since you're asking for something that the person hadn't necessarily decided to sell?
