Select multiple Regions in MSF / Import sets Velocity Range 0

Hi there,

I want to import Multisample (48+) Instruments into MSF. Sample Import works fine, but sets Velocity Range to 0 - at least for Samples generated with Halion and in all Import Modes. The Files usually have no Velocity Information. Velocity Range 0 means that you don´t get Sound and can´t see the Regions in the Editor. I have tested a Package made with MPC Software and it worked fine.

It would be no Problem if I would find a Way to select multiple/all Regions for Editing at once, but there seems to be none. Please correct me if I am wrong.

My next Topic are Keyboard Crossfades. I didn´t see any Options yet, but read about it in the Release Notes. Where can I edit KB Crossfades?

Thanks in Advance!

Windows, MSF 14.05

Try the different Velocity Detection choices in the Sample Import Settings?

Also, you can select the Region to be edited by clicking the <- or -> button or from the pop-up menu:

There are no multi-region edits . Nor crossfades - when ranges overlap, the first one found is played. Both have been requested. Maybe one day?

Thx!

I have tried all Settings and checked all that before I asked here.

Unfortunately... that means that I can really not move now 😕 Bad News. Are you Sure? I mean really?

I'll check expirting the Samples from HAL with Velocity Informations ... But without" Batch Processing" each of my full KB Range Multisampled Instruments would probably cost me Hours ... and feel like moving a Piano to the 32nd Floor without an Elevator 😂

Exporting the velocity info from HALion (into the file names) is the best idea. Then the MSF sampler should be able to extract that info.

Or, perhaps use a Batch File Name Editor to add that info ("manually") to the file names? But that depends on how regular the velocity splits are.

It is not about Splits here. MSF simply sets Velocity Range to 0, what means that the Samples are "inactive" - while they should normally Play 0-127.

But editing the Loops for 84 Samples individually would anyway be the next Problem without Multi Edit 🤔

If there are no velocity splits then MSF's Velocity Detection= Equal Measure Layers should do it, shouldn't it? What problems does that run into?

Or use a Batch File Name Editor to add velocity info ("manually") to the file names?

Can you upload a few samples that I can have a look at?

Where can I find "equal Measure"? Not in the Import Dialogue... I tried all four Settings there but same Result.

Maybe a missuse of Header Informations by SB that causes these Problems 🤔

I'll check later and upload some Examples for you ...

I'm really keen on moving to Planet Melda asap, that'd be at least an Hour of Sleep every Day and some wet Dreams finally fulfilled 😂

Multi Edit would fix all my Problems (for now) at once btw 😉

Sorry, I meant "Equal layers". I've edited my earlier post.

I tried Equal Layers, yes.

Tested again
- Files exported from Halion that contain Velocity Informations are properly imported (Velocity 0-127 Region)
- Other Files without VI are generally properly imported

As far as I can asses this Case, the Problem (Regions for imported Files get Velocity Range 0) seems to result from Header Data generated by Halions Export Function.?

Next Step ... that leads us back to "Select Multiple Regions" Functionality. The Loop Points that have been set with HAL don´t harmonize with MSFs Looping :/

GRUMP, please send me a few of these files asap (info@meldaproduction.com), a new beta is coming, so perhaps I can still fix something if there's a bug in there.
