Absolutely. I think at least having the mapped MIDI message being sent out is necessary.TVbene wrote: Wed May 06, 2020 3:55 pmMost important would be to have a lot of info sent out. Then everyone can choose.
I also think there is a benefit for multiple inputs and that one instance with multiple input routings in the DAW to it would be the way to go.TVbene wrote: Wed May 06, 2020 3:55 pmI'd argue that this would really improve the workflow for those who do live looping with multiple instruments, like I do. But yes, DAWs are a big limition there. How would you do multiple instruments? Have an instance of MSuperLooper for every instrument? Or one instance and then change the routing in the DAW?MeldaProduction wrote: Sun May 03, 2020 8:56 pm 1. There's quite no benefit in multiple inputs - you always record one anyways. Overall, after buying and having a play with it (and also finding it quite buggy so far), it's definitely got potential, but I feel the developer's idea of what it is and should be might need loosening up a bit (based on the manual and how things are stated to work). For instance, I want options for using in a loop-based host: I think it could be really popular with MASCHINE users who want/need a more traditional live-looping solution (with MIDI control) inside and without using something like Live alongside. Also, several functions feel like they either shouldn't be or don't need to operate at the end of the current bar and more options of what works this way are needed. However, I'm currently not sure which issues I'm running into are design issues and which are bugs...

Aren't all the MeldaProduction FX multi-input and multi-output when switched to Surround Mode?
And many of Voxengo's FX and u-he's Uhbik are multi-channel too.
I regard MSuperLooper as an instrument plug-in rather than an FX. It's a sample player that can record audio and has loads of powerful FX built in.

FR: The ability to export the loops incl the used FX (if that isn´t an actual Bug). ATM you can only export the recorded Audio dry, before the fx section. That makes the device nearly unusable for Sounddesign purposes in m oppinion.

Hi all. I'm new to Melda and MSuperLooper is my first product from them.
Can anyone point me to where I can D/L the documentation? I found the "All documentation" link and it has pdfs for everything but MSL. I installed MSL via their universal installer but can't find that it installed documentation.
I may have a few questions/wishes concerning MSL, but want to review docs first before commenting....

Thanks. It appears to be the same text as in the GUI help. But nice to see it all together in one place.DarkStar wrote: Sat May 09, 2020 5:39 pm Go to the Support tab on MSL's product page:

That said, I would wish for a "one-shot" mode while sync'd.
The work flow would be to arm for record within one bar as normal, then MSL would record the defined loop length exactly one time, immediately terminate recording and then loop/playback as normal - with no additional button presses required beyond the original arming for record.
If the record button *is* pressed again before the initial loop record is completed (or some new button pressed), then stay in record mode, delete the just completed take, loop and record as normal and at end of (re)recording the loop, do as described above.
As a guitar player I would find this extremely usable in live settings. A "dirt simple" mode if you will.

I bought MSuperLooper a couple days ago and I'm impressed at the depth of features included. Well done MeldaProduction! I built my own looper plugin using JUCE for my own needs, but it's missing too many features now, and I'd rather play than code, so that's why I bought MSuperLooper. That being said, I have the following questions/comments/suggestions:
1) I'm not too sure how the "Toggle select and record" option at the looper level works versus the "Select" and "Select and record" options at the track level. Can someone please provide examples?
2) When a recording loop reaches its end point for the first time, it would be great if the default next action could be configured to one of these values: "Overdub", "Record next empty loop", "Play", "Stop". This could be configured per track. This seems to be a popular request on this thread and other threads, at least to be able to switch to "Play" instead of "Overdub" automatically.
3) While most actions like "Record", "Previous track" and "Next track" happen at the next checkpoint, unless overridden by options, I did not find any way to have the "Play" action of each track to happen only at the next checkpoint, it always happens immediately. Am I missing something? If not, that would be a very useful option to have.
4) I saw several posts requesting a "multiple inputs" feature. Although this could be nice, I believe there is an easy workaround in most DAWs, if you don't need to record multiple inputs at the same time: create a track in your DAW for each input, route the output of each of these tracks to a group track, and set MSuperLooper as an insert effect on the group track.
5) As for the "multiple outputs" feature that is also frequently requested, I believe the easiest way would be to have MSuperLooper as an instrument instead of an effect. That would allow for multiple outputs to be dynamically activated, as it's the case for Kontakt and other instruments. Activated outputs could then be assigned per track in MSuperLooper. Having an instrument version of MSuperLooper would probably allow for multiple inputs as well, at least on the VST3 platform.
Thanks!

1) Very different things. The only point of the "toggle" thing is that some people use the pedal boards and want to press it once to start recording and again to stop recording.
2) There will be "Auto-overdub" option, global though, too many options
3) I'll check.
4) Correct, it won't happen I'm afraid.
5) Doesn't work like that. Instruments only have MIDI inputs.

I don't get that :pbrmei wrote: Sun May 10, 2020 8:25 pm4) I saw several posts requesting a "multiple inputs" feature. If you have (like I do) a sound card with several outputs (let's say 4). You have one drum machine, one bass, one synth playing pads and one melody (for instance. It could even be a band). They all play along together, BUT you don't want to record them all on a single track AND you don't want to stop 3 instruments just to record one.
Just like on a classic mixing console, where any of your tracks can go to several groups (or AUX) : it's not the same thing as your master bus (here = having a single input where all tracks are routed), and you can't imagine asking your drummer to stop playing because you want to solo record your bass. Does it make sense?
Another example : you have a drone pad with a 20 seconds reverb playing ostinato. But you have a nice idea for a simple bassline you want to record. If you have multiple inputs, you can record your bass easily witout having annoying bleeding from your long drone (and without having to wait half a minute to have it silent !

Actually the point of the internal FX is that you won't need to do that. You will use the reverb inside MSuperLooper, so you never need to wait. After all you'd need to wait either way in your scenario, which is quite a bummersinkmusic wrote: Tue May 12, 2020 10:39 pm Another example : you have a drone pad with a 20 seconds reverb playing ostinato. I love Audio Damage plugins, but they really are the worst at customer service. Years went by where I couldn’t get Dub Station to work, and they were basically, “yeah, I guess it doesn’t work.”R13 wrote: Mon Apr 27, 2020 11:23 am I own Enso but stopped using it after my multiple emails to support over the export function not working on Mac went unanswered. They also haven’t released a single update for the Mac version in the year since it was released.

I’m so excited about this! Why wasn’t I contacted!? As the preeminent looper in... well in my house, I expect to be consulted on all things audio looper!
I’ve been expecting Möbius to stop working (it did for a while, at least in Bitwig) any day now, but I’m very excited to get this one and add it to my Melda collection.
