Exactly :)

Though things were matched exceptionally well and the whole goal was to make it as difficult as possible. That's a very different goal from finding behaviours on the synth, which you think are difficult to copy, then comparing that. Even then, frequently such differences aren't necessarily "better" or "worse", just something you can agree is "different".

Plus, even if they spot something, if they've no OB8 to check with or if their skills at patch matching in Diva aren't good enough, they've got no point of reference.. so they're just stating preference. In that sense the test proved Diva is a better tool than an OB8, as far as their preferences for loads of sounds goes. But it doesn't necessarily inform you about any differences..

Got to tip my hat to Arturia. No hype train like the Synapse OB.
Bang here you go guys have a taste of the OB now :)
It wouldn't come as a shock if Synapse now hold back their release and add additional features.

Still not sure what all the fuss is about, the Matrix 12 seems more interesting imo but I doubt other developers will take it on after Arturia released their version of it.
Too much low hanging fruit to choose from.

But you have at least two Minimoog emus, right?
I don't get this part, Legend was what, 5th or 6th emulation that came onto market, but people were buying it and you got some nice sales of libraries for it.
Legend was a special case.

1. Up until Legend, no Minimoog emulations were really any good for selling libraries. And no, Monark doesn't count because of that horrible Reaktor patch system. I will never make a library for a Reaktor synth ever no matter how good it sounds.

2. So because I hate the Monark patch system, I never use it. I didn't buy Monark anyway. It came with Komplete 11. As far as I was concerned, they could have left it out and I would have never missed it.

3. Arturia's Mini V is so-so and the only reason I got it, again, was because it came with the V Collection. I never used it. In fact, when I did my V5 Collection Library, these were the synths I made patches for...

Synclavier
ARP 2600
Moog Modular
Matrix 12

That's how little I liked the Mini V.

4. Legend was FINALLY the first synth that sounded like a REAL Mini that I actually went out of my way to buy.

In the case of OB-Xa V, it is good enough. It doesn't sound nearly as bad as the early Arturia emulations. In fact, I think it sounds very good. So, given that I would go out of my way to buy it because I do think it sounds good enough, there is no reason for me to get Synapse Audio's even if it turns out to be better. I simply won't need another functional OB-Xa that I will actually use on a song.

And if I don't buy the OB-Xa V by June 9th, the sale will end and it will then cost me more money to get it. To me, that's just a bad business AND music decision, passing up on a usable synth that will also probably make me a decent return. Plus, if I get the whole V7 collection for just $149, I get other usable synths that I can add to the library and probably make even more sales if history is any indication.

Arturia stuff sells...period.

Hopefully, now, you understand why I've made the decision that I've made.

Ironically, not one person wrote to me asking me why I had no Mini presets. Of course it's rare anybody writes to me anyway. Most people just buy and that's about it.
