MSuperLooper - there is potential here BUT it really needs multiple outputs. Is this enhancement on the cards?

Count me in as another who's interested here. Multiple outs are a real deal-breaker for me. Been looking for a Mobius replacement for some time, and MSuperLooper seems to have real potential. I'd really like to be able to recreate my Mobius workflow, where I have a dry guitar signal coming into the looper and 3-4 different loops coming out which are routed to separate instances of Guitar Rig and other FX.

Post

+1 for multiple outputs :)

Post

be nice to be able to modulate start and end points of the loops too

Post

Yes, indeed.

It needs to be fairly stable in the first place. This plugin is a bug fest.

Working on it, there are problems with AU and AAX. Anyways multiout isn't planned I'm afraid, simply because most DAWs don't handle multiout FX.

I'd like to add to the voices asking you to reconsider this. And if that's really the case and the reason for not doing it, create an instrument version of the plugin. With the external MIDI control that I bet most will use with it, it's as much of an instrument as an effect anyway.

Post

Curious to know which DAWs don't support multiout fx, but those I know that can be used for live performance do support it, such as Reaper, Ableton, Usine, and I'm guessing most modular type hosts such as MUX, Bidule, etc. Admittedly having the Melda fx available for each track is great and covers a lot of needs, but having separate outs guarantees total flexibility (which Melda is famous for!).

Post

Actually the flexibility should be in the integrated stuff. Anyways in Reaper you can do that, in the modular stuff such as MUX and Bidule too, but these are really rare things to use. According to my stats by far the most used DAWs are Reaper, Cubase, Logic, ProTools and Live. And except for Reaper I think multiout FX's are NOT available. Only multiout instruments are, but that's not applicable here, since this needs audio input.

... as a Reaper user, I'd be selfishly glad to be able to use it :D

I also use Reaper as my main DAW, but I just checked Ableton again to confirm that it does allow to access multiout fx. A voxengo plugin (is not an instrument) is used as an example below. Anyway thanks for considering it and responding to the forum posts as usual!

I'll think about that at some point, but at the moment times are just too hectic to care about something so rare.

Well that is for you to decide. However, I don't think it's rare to want to process the loops outside the plugin.

Something that I'm finding annoying is that the free effects (which, by the way I upgraded) don't work as fx on the loops, I stupidly expected that they would before I grabbed it. To get the basic FXs I'd wish to use on the loops I'd have to buy several highly complex and relatively expensive extra plugins, which I can not afford. I do appreciate that you have to eat but so do we all.

[EDIT: I suppose this would not be a full solution because of AU/AAX]

Might the designation as a VST3i instrument be a relatively easy solution after all, based on this general info?:
https://www.steinberg.net/en/company/te ... /vst3.html
"Audio inputs for VST instruments

The VST3 interface expands VST instruments by adding the ability to create audio input busses. As a result, audio data can be routed to an VST3 instrument. A synthesizer which has a built-in e.g. vocoder effect is able to process audio data coming in from other sources as well."
