I ordered it. I expected to get a serial number in an email, but it didn't happen. hmm. Well, a week later, I get this in the mail. A Sugar Bytes Thesys DVD case. I was amused. It has to be some kind of Sugar Bytes collectors item. There was no cd in there, just a postcard with a serial number.

Probably clearing stock then, same with the other bundle the other day! Good to know though, I might want to avoid them then as I'm not in the U.S.!

Uncle E, is there a similar crossgrade at jrrshop?
I was looking for it, without luck.
Unfortunately, it does not look like we're able to sell it.

Got a S2 Producer copy here from someone (thanks again  ) and as a student I'm able to upgrade for less than $70 thanks to you prices! :o Usually I pay with PayPal but I got a cashback offer from my CC so yeah, too good to pass I guess (or I tell myself that at least). S4 pro for a fraction of the price it would cost to upgrade my Cubase lol
I switched from Cubase and absolutely love it. Keep in mind that Studio One 4 was released June 4 last year so a new version might be around the corner.

Good to know! I've been on the fence because it is a lot cheaper compared to Cubase as I'm currently on Cubase artist. I'm missing features and consider getting Pro, however that is quite expensive. S1 has a lot of great features but is also lacking some plus all my projects are still in progress in Cubase. I won't fully switch for now but for my laptop Studio One is great as I don't need the dongle! So yeah, you just convinced me lol. Installing as we speak. For €60 I can't go wrong + a free melodyne license!

Studio One's nearly my main DAW. If they add a few things to S5 Pro, like opening up and documenting their X scripting language and making it easier to use MIDI FX without loads of workarounds creating redirection tracks, it could become my number one.

At one time we had the MFX standard by Cakewalk and that made midi fx easy to work with. The VST midi fx are not given the recognition as a standard and treaded like the MFX was. Apparently the DAW developers do not like working with midi.

In the past I used Bidule to host both the audio and midi fx. Now looks like will be using Unify.
The first DAW that treats the VST midi FX the same as MFX will become my main DAW.

Try Bitwig - you can have any device or plugin at any position in the device chain on one track, mix or layer effects, instruments and midi devices any way and order you want. Best implementation I've ever seen for midi plugins...

No need for Unify IMO - at least I haven't seen it doing anything you can't do in Bitwig without adding more software layers to the setup.

Cheers,

Tom

I would love to include Bitwig, Mulab, Live and FL Studio in my list of possible DAW's but they do not have ARA2 implementation. :(

Reaper seems ok for that but is so poor in other areas that I would not get it for anything requiring midi instruments, given the other DAWs available that are great. In the end you have tradeoffs, why is ARA2 so important? (I love it for Melodyne in Studio One so it is great to have - but then I have Bitwig now as well to handle things S1 is not as good at- and Reaper as an audio only editor, which it is great at)
If you have a diverse practise like I do then you will want and maybe need more than one bit of software. After being Reaper only for a very long time I have finally realised the one size fits all approach is not successful for me, although I might end up like Tom and be almost entirely Bitwig :)

Sure, chose your poison... :D
I don't use Melodyne but use midi plugins a LOT so I couldn't care less ;-)
I had almost all DAWs there are at one point, now it's one.
Bliss :-)

I have Bitwig and really like it and if Bitwig and Studio One had a baby I'd steal it from its pram.

I also believe lockdown has affected my memory of what others deem acceptable in joke form.

That made me laugh. So it can't be too bad.

Though really? I'm not overly appropriate. :D

Mmm... could this mean a version 2 update is heading our way in the next few months? Hope so.
