15th track from my upcoming CD "RPM II"
A pop Broadway tune, fully orchestrated. This was a real challenge and I loved every minute of it.
Quit The Whining (V P)
Quit the whining Vincent Price
Don't you know it's just not nice
Scaring people with that face
Victims killed without a trace
What you do's a big disgrace
Quit the whining Vincent Price
Quit the whining Vinnie Paul
I can hear you down the hall
Pounding drums into my ears
It goes on for years and years
You can pound me into tears
Quit the whining Vinnie Paul
Nobody likes a whiner
You end up with a shiner
Come join me at the diner
And we'll whine together
Quit the whining Vinny Paz
The world knows you're just a spaz
Hitting people on the chin
Do it with that stupid grin
And a heart that's made of tin
Quit the whining Vinny Paz
Nobody likes a crier
You come off as a liar
You'll never get much higher
So let's whine together
Quit the whining all of you
Something else you'll find to do
Scaring folks or pounding drums
Do it til your brain goes numb
We know where you're coming from
Quit the whining
Quit the whining
Quit the whining
Quit the whining all of you

Very enjoyable to listen to. As always I was able to listnen to all of it without the usual skipping I do with other peoples stuff. Its becuase I don't want to miss those quirks you throw in!
I wish I had your lyric talent. Although I think, "the squeaky wheel gets the oil" is a line that came to me while listening!
Love the trumpets and the arrangement.
Good one

Thanks. I really enjoyed doing this. It's the first full orchestral arrangement that I've done since my CD "Once Upon A Time: which was some time ago. And back then I didn't own VSL and their sound stage software which made a world of difference on this piece.Bansaw wrote: Wed May 20, 2020 12:38 am Very enjoyable to listen to. I'm thinking that maybe my next CD will be all Broadway. It's a lot of work but it's so rewarding when it comes out well.
Thanks as always for the listen and the feedback.

I enjoyed the vocal melody and the orchestral arrangement of "Quit the Whining." The quirky lyrics and approach remind me of Sparks and that's a good thing. Very nice work!
Vladimir Putin (VP) could have been addressed in this song.

This song is so much fun. I loved the vocals and the lyrics and the orchestral arrangement. I would love it if you would do more of these. It really did feel like this song is part of an overall story.
I'm curious to see if I got the references... I know who Vincent Price is, of course. Vinnie Paul -- the drummer from Pantera? And Vinnie Paz, the boxer?

Thanks for the listen and feedback Frantz. I wasn't going for Sparks but back in the day, I did a pretty decent Russel Mael. The accent is missing on this one for it to be a true emulation.Frantz wrote: Wed May 20, 2020 4:12 am I enjoyed the vocal melody and the orchestral arrangement of "Quit the Whining." But it does give me a thought. Possibly a future album title "The Sparks Fly" and do a Sparks tribute. Could be a lot of fun.
** EDIT ** Putin had too many syllables.

Thanks for the listen and the feedback. I did have a lot of fun doing this one. And yes, you got all the references down.Rajiv wrote: Wed May 20, 2020 4:23 am This song is so much fun. 16th and final track from my upcoming CD "RPM II" and almost every song the title was randomly generated. That was a real challenge.
It's rare that I come to the end of a CD and am sorry to see it go, but this is one of those cases. I had so much fun doing it and this track in particular was a blast.
No great piece of music (basically 16 bar blues in G in old 50s style with some twists) but was so much fun. Pay particular attention to the Realitone Ladies on this one. Not my usual 1 track with one articulation and done. This one has 4 different tracks. Made it sound so much more human.
I have no idea what I'm doing for my next CD but I am truly sorry to let this one go. It was the most fun I've had this year.
Maddy Narz Big Song Keeps Rockin
Maddy Narz Big Song Keeps Rockin
Rockin me all the way
Maddy Narz Big Song Keeps Rockin
It's rockin me everyday
Maddy Narz she comes a knockin
To steal my heart away
Maddy Narz Big Song Keeps Rockin
And it's rockin me here to stay
Maddy Narz she is a rocker
She knows how to rock the town
Maddy Narz she is a rocker
Whenever she is around
Maddy Narz she comes a rockin
You know where she can be found
Maddy Narz big song keeps rockin
And she's rockin me to the ground
Knew her back in her classical days
When her head was always in a haze
But now she rocks like no one can
And I'm her biggest fan
Instrumental Break
Repeat Verse 1
Repeat Bridge

I'm taking a short break from writing. In the meantime, could I get just ONE feedback on my latest track or do I have to dig up one of Aaron's old posts to get him to do it?
Sheesh, this place, really. I comment on almost everybody's music here and sometimes I feel like I'm invisible.
Anyway, carry on. Nothing to see here.
Aaron, I'm off a hunting.
** EDIT ** Found and commented on one of Aaron's old threads that got completely ignored. Guy's one of the most talented here and you'd be amazed at how many of his threads don't even have one comment. Anyway, you can now proceed to ignore this thread. He'll be along soon. At least he understands about reciprocation. Some of you guys should try it sometime.

The most recent sounds nice. I don't really have anything insightful to say. I really liked the previous. Also can't stand Pazienza. Still remember how he basically sucker punched Dana Rosenblatt so good lyrics.

My wife says if you go more in a comedy direction you could get something viral. For whatever that's worth.
I appreciate by the way that you comment on so many tracks in the music cafe.

wagtunes,
Thank you for the reviews from my deep dark past!
"Maddy Narz": this one has a Broadway play vibe for me: good! Once again, you must have that good sax software happening again. These are some of your better vocals; they fit the song well. And the female background vocals are very good. Instrumentally, everything sounds great. Overall, I think this is one of your best songs/recordings. I seriously think this could be part of a big successful Broadway play.
