Yes , there are single cycled waveforms + 2 lfo , filters , pitch , amp , filter envelopes per partial and a modulatin matrix , this is technology from the early 2000's :tu:
You could also just download the manualf for the xv5080 hardware or the integra ( pcm synth section ) and read up all about it
Eyeball exchanging
Soul calibrating ..frequencies

Thanks I am going to check out the manual now. :)

Yes (though the "standard" waveforms would be samples). But the interface isn't well done. So it feels a bit like using one of those plugin MIDI editors you'd get to edit a hardware synth.

This is part of what's getting "fixed" by Zenology Pro, which they're touting as being better for editing sounds on a deeper level, and maybe they'll even find the missing reverb (not included on Zenology) by then. Plus I think the add-on 5080 sounds are $30 on Zenology Vs $99 for the actual plugins. Though hopefully they don't make the mistake of making the reverb a pro only feature (aka how to disgruntle your customers)

In "theory" you could replicate D-50 sounds with the later synths (and they even include some presets), just like it's possible "in theory" to replicate some Korg M1 sounds with the Triton plugin. But it's not something I'd recommend in either case. :) Plus you'd miss out on the D-50 sysex import which gives you access to a bunch of "vintage" presets if you're so inclined.

In some sense, if you avoid some of the cliche dated presets, the more basic nature of the D-50 sounds can sit better with stuff than the later pre-baked rompler material. If you notice that sort of thing, with stuff like the Wavestation plugin, then the D50 is likely something someone would appreciate. IIRC Its presets make better use of aftertouch than just about any modern plugin you'd care to mention too. I'd guess it was a condition set for the sound designers, when Eric Persing etc were making sounds for it.

Even the $3 per month option gives you the whole thing for a month, so it should be possible to try them all out..

The XV-5080 plugin (like the JV-1080 plugin) also includes interaction of 2 of the 4 tones/parts like e.g. ring modulation and using 2 multimode filters in series.

Well Roland Cloud is actually handled by Virtual Sonics, which is an American company co-owned by Jeremy Soule. Clearly this guy is a total thieving conman.

WHy ?
He is also a composer ( skyrim amongst others ) , or is that a different Jeremy Soule ?
Beats me, but if you haven’t noticed - the stink that we’ve all been making seems to slowly have been addressed by Roland, although it took them several years. Now there’s tiered subscriptions and they’re allowing the purchase of lifetime keys with much clearer language. It’s about time, but I wonder if it’s too little/too late.

I think the biggest thing still stinking it up is that for the lifetime keys you still need Roland's Cloud manager going all the time, rather than a one-time authorization. So every once in a while you get the unauthorized pop-up when opening the VST and have to sign in. I don't particularly want another service running in the background all the time with a possibility of not being able to use stuff I own if I'm off-line.

It's certainly not perfect, but at least we're part of the way there. That said, I don't keep Roland Cloud's service running in the background all of the time. As soon as I authenticate periodically, I kill the service. Seems to work fine for me.

That still doesn't justify calling him a conman , afaik his company was responsible for the coding and that's it .
The authorisation , cloudstuff + included shitstorm was roland's part

If he was responsible for how the whole thing works, then it certainly does taking into consideration that it was only until the past month that a somewhat acceptable solution appeared.

FYI apparently if you quit the Roland Cloud subscription but used to be active while the rewards program was going, you can actually reactivate and you will again receive the 2 per year reward. I confirmed with Roland Cloud support.

Sorry if I missed this part, but I am guessing they don't give out the 2 per year if you're a new member of the Roland Cloud and that the new lifetime keys are separate from that?

Yes new sing ups no longer get 2 per year, or even one. Lifetime keys can now be purchased for single instruments though.

Has anyone received more than 2 lifetime licenses. I only ever got this offer once and it is marked as claimed in my account. I started the account in late 2017.

I'm up to 6. But I had to ask. It almost feels kind of "hush hush." Contact support. If you're eligible, they'll get you your licenses.

Great, thanks for the tip. Looks like I made my first payment in Jan 2018 so that's at least 2 years I have been a part of it. I have messaged Roland Cloud support.
