Just wondering if anyone has has this happen after updating to 14.07
I rolled back to 14.05 and I no longer have the issue. (14.06 also exits)
This is on a fully patched Windows 10 64bit 1909 Build 18363.836)
GTX960 with Nvidia 446.14 drivers (non Beta)
In 14.05 I tried disabling GPU acceleration in Melda setting, and upgrading to 14.07. Didn't make a difference. Melda still kicked me out
I even tried uninstalling the last Windows update, same result.
Until this gets resolved, I am stuck at 14.05. I thought I would see here before dropping a note to Melda support.

Sorry, you're saying that as soon as you load a melda plugin it crashes your DAW? Fortunately I have not had this issue.
I'm on Reaper 6.11, Win10 Pro 1909 Build 18363.836, vst3 (but did use one vst2 plugin) had been using 14.06, and just now tried 14.07.

Windows 10.
Use MRecorder for quick example.
Yup same here. Instant crash to Desktop, no message, no log.
Wavelab, Cubase, Nuendo.
I have license for all free versions too.
MSpectralDynamics (with license) still works and so do some of the other plugins.
Rolling back here.

Just a bit more info:
This is Windows 10 fully updated and patched.
Latest version of all hosts.
In the hosts I tested I was using VST3 Versions, (although I notice above that user promidi mentioned Magix, which I believe is only VST2.)
Symptoms:

In the hosts I tested I was using VST3 Versions, (although I notice above that user promidi mentioned Magix, which I believe is only VST2.)
Symptoms:
- Insert MRecorder.
- There is a long pause while nothing happens (seems the plugin is being initialised).
- Poof! Host crashes to desktop. (Usually leaving itself active in Task manager. In other words host is not properly closed as it did not exit correctly).
- Also trying to use the Clean Up in the Melda installer failed as the plugins were still being held by the system for some reason, I guess related to above.
- Also same behaviour in 14.06.
- After reboot and roll back to 14.05 all works as expected.
- Insert MRecorder as example and it appears instantly, no delay, no crash.

I had a look in the application event viewer. When ever Melda 14.07 crashed there is the following error.
Faulting application name: Videodeluxe.exe (This is what ever host crashed - in this case, Magic Video edit Pro), version: 19.0.2.58, time stamp: 0x5e4164a2
Faulting module name: KERNELBASE.dll, version: 10.0.18362.815, time stamp: 0xb89efff3
Exception code: 0xe06d7363
I use Malwarebytes 4.1.0.56, but I disabled that and Melda 14.07 still crashed
I even tried uninstalling and reinstalling the 2013 Vdist runtimes (The ones from Melda) and the latest from Microsoft.

That line does not exist in the file. Thanks though.ystmrk wrote: Fri May 29, 2020 7:37 am Please Try remove this option.

Somewhere on the 2nd line : <GPU .... />

Ok so tried a number of things related to the above suggestion. Also copying gpu.xml from previous version. Even completely removing the gpu file.
Nothing worked. MRecorder (example) still causes instant crash. (Some of the other plugins do work as before).

I cannot reproduce this crash with MRecorder, but I had some kind of instant crashes (Reaper just immediately closed) while working with MSoundFactory. I was not able to reproduce it and it did not happen again.
Since you people are writing about GPU stuff etc.: what graphics cards do you have? I have a AMD RX580 here. Maybe it depends on the graphics card or so?

Just for reference here is the contents of the gpu.xml file after rolling back to 14.05:
nVidia here btw. However, I think the GPU suggestion was just a suggestion. Suspect that this may be some other issue.
Code: Select all
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<GPU Colorize="0" ColorizePanels="0" FPS="30" HDPI="0" TabletMode="1"/>- KVRian

I once had an issue (not anymore though) that I had to cap the FPS to something below ... I guess 62 or 42? It was an odd number, hehe ... and everything above made the GUI of Melda-graphs not smooth or so. So maybe there could also be some issue with the FPS or so?
Just wild guessing here. Hopefully we will all find out!

I am using an Nvidia GTX960 with the latest drivers (446.14). I tried rolling back to an older version. I even tried disabling the driver altogether - nada. Still crashed.

I've just installed 14.07 and I'm having daw crashing and closing when I try to change themes (only some themes do this).
I'm on Reaper 6.11 using VST3 formats, on pretty much every plugin I tried.
