Audio Engine Off = no inputs

WF 11.0.36 - Windows 10

I'm not sure if this is a new thing or even a planned thing but if "Options" -> "Run audio engine when stopped" is on, I can select audio inputs for tracks. If it is turned off, the audio inputs disappear.

If I set an audio input for a track and then turn off "Run audio engine when stopped", the audio input for the track disappears.

I don't have the non-BETA edition to test with, so I'm not sure if this is new. It doesn't happen in WF9.
