Right, I've finally gotten around to doing some tests on the issues outlined in the original post.
ISSUE 1: Exporting/Importing Drumsets across platforms
I've tried opening the drumset (exported on my Mac) in MDrummer in Cubase 9.5 on my Windows PC. It causes the same freeze as experienced in Ableton. So it seems the issue is DAW agnostic.
I exported a new drumset in MDrummer using Ableton on my Windows PC. Created a new instance of MDrummer and tried to open it. Worked fine. Tried to open it in MDrummer/Ableton on my Mac and I get the freezing issue again.
To summarise, if I try to open a drumset created with a PC or Mac on my Mac; or open a drumset on my PC created on my Mac, it causes a freeze/crash. So it seems that the Mac is the common denominator. Note this is a MacBook 2019 i9 with the latest version Catalina.
So I guess this could be a bug. What should I do?
ISSUE 2: Using MDrummer with the same 3rd party WAV library on a PC and Mac
I need a solution to how I can use the same sample library on these two OS's/File systems. Even if I wasn't having the issue outlined above, exporting/importing drumsets wouldn't be the most convenient solution, for a variety of reasons.
What would you suggest is the best way to flip between platforms in the most efficient/convenient way? All my other software (almost all Melda), works fine with this, except MDrummer.
I would really appreciate some ideas.
Thanks
Pete

This is interesting, I opened an Ableton file that went from my Mac to my PC and back to my Mac.
See in the link, a screengrab of MDrummer's missing samples alert. The paths have got corrupted.
This section should not be in these paths: "/wa_drum_machine_collection/tr-909/kick_drums"

Exactly. That's what's wrong. That path does not exist and never has.
Here's an example (removing: "/Users/peterjacobs/Documents/Samples" for brevity):
This path:
Should be:
No idea why it's added "/wa_drum_machine_collection/tr-909/kick drums" to the path.
Here are some examples of the sample pack's folder structure:
etc
etc
I hope that makes sense!
