TB Equalizer v4

Post

Tb eq v4 has the ai comparison, but don’t see much sense and use in it.
You can size the gui as small or big you like.

The analyzer is pre and post in one. Mixed!

Newb question..

I have kicked off the AI template on pop modern.
The suggestion is now shown.
Then on pop up help "The assistant will not change the audio."
Do I have to draw it in myself and make the EQ match the AI suggestion?
Can this be done automatically?
Thanks.

Yes.
It is a design decision : TB Eq4 will show you a curve, and let you decide if you want to follow it or not. The plugin will not change the curve automatically.

Which is not as easy as it looks!
(newb)

Sonible seems much easier in that respect.
Decisions decisions...

Thanks for the speedy reply! :tu:

Yes, I also do not understand why it cannot be done automatically.

fairlyclose wrote: Wed Nov 27, 2019 12:47 pm I am looking at the Melda MAutoDynamicEQ, which seems very powerful but not my favourite interface. I see the Toneboosters EQ4 has sidechain so can it take something like a bass track as sidechain to duck a pad at the different pitches of the sidechain bassline as they change?

Alternatively - if I fed a chord into the sidechain could the notes of the chord duck or boost those frequencies of the target track eg a pad/drone?
EQ4 does have a side-chain input, but like most dynamic EQs, you can only tell a particular band's gain to respond to the side-chain input's amplitude. As far as I know, the Melda plugin works exactly the same way.

What you're looking for (if I understand correctly), is something like Wavesfactory Trackspacer .
Why is Equalizer 4 advertised as having "spectral sidechaining" when it can't do what Trackspacer and Smart:comp can do?

What is spectral about the sidechain functionality in EQ4? :?:

@djeroen Please add an option to set a different weight/slope for the analyzer. I am very used to have a 4.5 slope in SPAN and other plugins that include an analyzer.

I'd like to see a 3db slope too - Pink noise looks flat at 3db which my preferred reference/visual. JB isn't known for providing these kind of options though, the recent change to Barricade's metering was unexpected and very non-optional.
