Just yesterday an offer via emailed link (apparently available in german only) was posted at Samplitude forum that takes you to an EUR149 offer for Samplitude PRO Suite X4 (yes, not X5!!) also including Spectralayers 6 (with no update to SL 7).Kalamata Kid wrote: ↑Wed Jun 03, 2020 10:49 pmLooks like I need to keep an eye on Humble Bundles for a SoundForge and Spectralayers sale! Apparently I missed some good sales. My interest is in SL 6 but more so in Version 7. I was thinking that SL 7 will likely be released in 2021 but as you stated SL 7 it already has been announced. What is the ETA for SL7?Nspace wrote: ↑Wed Jun 03, 2020 10:19 pmhttps://www.magix.com/us/music/samplitu ... /#c1199487Kalamata Kid wrote: ↑Wed Jun 03, 2020 1:40 pmNspace, I also thank you for the interesting post. Had no idea that Spectralayers 7 was announced. Do you have a link for that?
I passed up the previous sale in the hope that there may soon be another better sale for Sound Forge Pro 13 or 14 which includes SL 6 and 7. I suppose SL 6 and/or 7 will eventually be sold separately from Sound Forge.
"Steinberg SpectraLayers Pro 6 + 7
Steinberg SpectraLayers Pro 6 is one of the most advanced spectral editors worldwide. SpectraLayers Pro transforms sound into a unique visual world of multidimensional audio data. Its concept, based on frequency selection, enables sounds to be extracted, optimized or rearranged in a new, revolutionary way. Thanks to ARA2, SpectraLayers Pro is now more seamlessly integrated into Samplitude Pro X5. All customers that purchase a copy of Samplitude Pro X5 Suite will be able to download the forthcoming update to SpectraLayers Pro 7 for free."
Magix has been bundling SF and SL with Samplitude PRO Suites, however sales usually include legacy SF versions, which have also appeared at HumbleBundle. SL was only included in some of the bundle sales, careful with that.

I would love to get my hands on a SL 6 or SL 6/7 or if included wit Soundforge. If SAmplitude Pro X5 goes on sale for $199 I will likely get it.

Consider two things: First Magix legalities except them to forced updates/upgrades depending on the actual date the buyer activates the acquired software (unlike the way iex iZotope does). So if you buy certain Magix software version now, it will remain the same one, despite when you activate it, even if it is after a new version release.
And secondly, last year Steinberg came with a short time offer for Spectralayers upgrades, starting with EUR49 - yes, forty nine euros - from the previous version, (if I remember well EUR99 for 2 versions back) and so on. This is first time ever such happens with Spectralayers, but who knows if it will happen again...

Most companies only offer a short grace period if any and with iZotope it's if you purchased it 30 days prior to the new version being released. Note: this is when you purchased it not when you activated it.Nspace wrote: ↑Fri Jun 05, 2020 11:42 amMagix legalities except them to forced updates/upgrades depending on the actual date the buyer activates the acquired software (unlike the way iex iZotope does). There are only a few that have a very encompassing grace period policy.
As for Magix, well they are still selling version 4 very cheaply so it would make no sense to automatically give a free upgrade to version 5 for people buying V4 since V5 was released. They aren't a charity.

Nice tip and it works. I had to pay VAT as I'm in the UK, but just paid £47 for what's normally $470.Nobdi wrote: ↑Fri Jun 05, 2020 12:45 pmWhere did you get THAT from ??? - haven't read that anywhere.timbit2006 wrote: ↑Fri Jun 05, 2020 4:23 am ...

Download speed is quite slow. No big deal, but wondering if it is the same for others.

Yeah, it's not the fastest, but on the bright side the libraries aren't super huge, mostly around 1GB in size.
I bought
Worra's Prophet / INIL Choir / Tubed Keys Mki 73 / Little Bastard / Rain Piano MKii / WG2 MkII - Studio Grand Piano
Have just run quick tests on all apart from the WG2 which I'm still downloading - the Tubed Keys stands out, really characterful well sampled dusty old Rhodes sound. It's got that "found it covered in cobwebs at the back of the studio" vibe.

How's the INIL Choir's playability? I'd guess it doesn't have anything like legato?WatchTheGuitar wrote: ↑Fri Jun 05, 2020 3:18 pm Yeah, it's not the fastest, but on the bright side the libraries aren't super huge, mostly around 1GB in size.

I'm thinking of Rain Piano MK2 or Vertikal. Currently the only good uprights I have are Tom Thumb Piano and Addictive Keys. I love the description of Rain Piano, but I doubt it will actually make people think of Tom Waits. Are its 11 velocity layers enough to take the place of round robins? Listening to the demo with that in mind, it seemed more like a looped sample than the same motif being played repeatedly (then again, with most contemporary genres there's nothing wrong with looping a sample). Vertikal has I think 16 velocity layers. Is Rain harder to fit in a mix?
