Ctrl A/B choices have no effect

You might need to give us more info. It works my end for instance.
Maybe DAW? OS? maybe even a sample preset may help.. or a video, or at least a screenshot of a patch.

No video to do, really, it'll just show that nothing changes when modulating that CC.
Now I see that it does work, but only with a new instance of the plugin. If I change the default Ctrl A/B value, I must load a new instance each time – any previous instances respond to Ctrl A/B MIDI CC that was set before changing it. So if I had Ctrl A as CC2, record modulation and change Ctrl A to CC3, it still responds only to CC2. But each new instance will now respond to CC3.
That's probably expected, I guess?.. It would get tiring and confusing to reinstantiate each instance of the plugin though

Ahh.. they are two places you change it.. in per instance and a global one.
I suspect you are doing it in the per instance not the global one.
