I agree. Very usable and fun stuff. One more thing: I like the videos, stories behind it, the guy's attitude and way of life. I bought this two weeks ago and experienced the collection as a journey in the form of sound in the shadow of the lockdown.mgw38 wrote: Fri Jun 12, 2020 6:45 pm The 450GB is a bit of a gimmick because foley sounds tend to come in a gazillion different file formats some of which are so uncompressed they are almost expanded. But the sounds included in this library are actually really nice! Certainly worth way more than 16 bucks.
Just my .02 .

I think that is an OEM license. You can get those cheaper if you shop around.peakles wrote: Fri Jun 12, 2020 6:52 pmThe site seems to be down. Was anyone able to get this?leo007 wrote: Fri Jun 12, 2020 5:26 am PCWorld Windows 10 Professional 82% Discount

Edit: At closer inspection, this might actually be a regular license. I might give it a try.

When you click the link, does the page load any info? I can see just the logo of PCWorld... I either think license isn't OEM. so it make this offer highly worth this casemgw38 wrote: Fri Jun 12, 2020 7:12 pm I think that is an OEM license. You can get those cheaper if you shop around.

Just bought it and upgraded my home license and surprisingly, this is actually a regular retail license. You can get an OEM license for around 20$. For a retail license, this is a really good price.leo007 wrote: Fri Jun 12, 2020 7:30 pmI either think license isn't OEM. so it make this offer highly worth this casemgw38 wrote: Fri Jun 12, 2020 7:12 pm I think that is an OEM license. That price is cheap enough to warrant picking one up to have a license in my back pocket if I want a new Windows 10 build in the next 2 years.

full license which is always useful as you can switch machines with it. (only one at a time, but means you don't have to worry about needed a Pro license on your next machine purchase. )mgw38 wrote: Fri Jun 12, 2020 7:39 pmJust bought it and upgraded my home license and surprisingly, this is actually a regular retail license. Some are 192KHz/32bit WAV so if you aren't using them for sound design that's hugely wasteful of disk space.mgw38 wrote: Fri Jun 12, 2020 6:45 pmThe 450GB is a bit of a gimmick because foley sounds tend to come in a gazillion different file formats some of which are so uncompressed they are almost expanded. The All in one bundle that they sell directly is listed as being 947GB and costs $20 so the Bandcamp deal doesn't sound so good!
They seem to average around 2 minutes each.

Glad to hear you're liking the Spark - I have one on pre-order as well but only ordered late April so probably a while to wait yet - I'm mentally preparing myself for it to sound crappy compared to my JBL305s + S-Gear / Mooer GE200, but only time will tell!Kurdish Mayfield wrote: Fri Jun 12, 2020 6:29 am Ive had this for a few years now. I also did the pre buy on the Positive Grid Spark amp and have been using it since March. This actual practice amp is so much better than having an amp sim and it was only $200 . Great sound at low level and great for recording. The SGear was never easy to get a good tone (I work with cleaner tones mostly) and after waiting over a year for an update it was $29 for basically a scalable GUI. SGear has a cult like following at its forum so useless for anything other than "wow this sim is great". To me, when real great sounding amps can be had for relatively cheap , sims have to do a lot more : I dont see it with SGear
Agreed re: Cult-like following for S-Gear, I'm probably part of the cult haha, but what I will say is Mike, the dev, actively participates and helps users out with issues / questions and if you're after a certain sound, the members there are generally very helpful.

Great! Thanks! It really looks fun.Kurdish Mayfield wrote: Fri Jun 12, 2020 6:39 pm Practice tools are really great to me. Keep in mind that I havent focused on the things that have been available over the years like Chordify and such. I just spent my time trying to find the perfect sim. Having a great sounding amp with built in chord analysis and the ability to import and analyze tracks from Spotify or You Tube plus built in tracks to jam with is game changing. There is literally always something to try when I pick up the guitar.

I don't see myself upgrading my PC anytime soon, so not sure if I should jump on the deal. What if the license fails to activate after say 4 years when I build a new PC?

Those licenses are golden. I upgraded from Windows 7 Pro a year ago using exactly the same license number and I've been in Windows 10 Pro since. Those licenses are a lifetime thing. Basically I'm still using the same license I bought in 2009.LoveEnigma18 wrote: Sat Jun 13, 2020 3:00 amExcellent find, leo007.leo007 wrote: Fri Jun 12, 2020 7:30 pmI either think license isn't OEM. so it make this offer highly worth this casemgw38 wrote: Fri Jun 12, 2020 7:12 pm I think that is an OEM license.
