Here is a basic preset + wav that uses the Amen break as a wavetable:
Any ideas what's causing the crackling/popping and is there any way to get rid of it?

The crackling might be down to each frame of the wavetable not starting and ending at a zero-crossing point. If you have Serum or another wavetable synth that allows editing of wavetables you can mitigate that a little.

Here's an attempt after dropping an amen into Serum first then editing the wavetable slightly. Still by no means perfect.

I wrote an .uhm script that imports a sample and evens out the wavetable endings... must be somewhere in this forum.

Unless I'm missing a step there's no output wav file, Howard. Here's the h2p preset with its wav and uhm files. (note to all: the uhm and wav files need to be in the same folder)
The 80.75 in "Amen80.75.wav" is the bpm I initially rendered the wav at that got closest to 64*2048 samples at 44.1kHz. I'm not sure if this gets a better/neater result?
