Can MVocoder do what Waves Morphoder does (internal Carrier/+modulated noise)?

From the Morphoder manual:
By default the Morphoder will launch with the Internal synthesizer selected as
the Carrier signal and the track input as the Modulator signal. So if you insert
this plug-in over any vocal track, all you have to do is press play and play the
morphoder’s musical keyboard and it talks!
Also:
NOISE: –infinity to 0.0dB. Default: –30dB.
This control sets the mix of the modulated noise generation to the plug-in’s
output.
Is it possible to do this in MVocoder?
Thanks!

First I must say... I never used Morphoder. And I am a heavy Vocodex user (junkie) but when I feel a little bit crazy and have the need to go deep with vocoding I go with Melda...AGIGA wrote: Tue Jun 16, 2020 10:08 pm From the Morphoder manual:

MVocoder as single plugin has no synth built in... BUUUTT (as always with Melda) you can do this of course by using MVocoder inside of MXXX. Then you can use MSF and with this you get the most control over the signal you can get (Noise/FM/Wavetable/Unison/Sampler + Saturation, Granular, Flanger, EQ, etc... all great in this context).
[Every now and then I just need this amount of complexity when vocoding... you know, to calm down my "god-complex".... I can do everything!!!!]
Maybe it takes a little bit more time/effort to set it up the first time.. but once you have a preset going it will feel similar to Morphoder (I guess)..
I´m not 100% sure what you mean with the "NOISE" part... but you can use the "whitening" in MVocoder, which is filling out gapes in the frequency spectrum. This sounds like noise is mixed in with the signal...

I think another reason one likes a vocoder isn´t only by it´s possibilities...
I´m very used to the sound of Vocodex and when I`m in the design process and the feeling creeps up my spine that I need "my" vocoder sound here and now, it only can be achieved by Vocodex... this creamy-plastic-synthetic like quality is only performed by this VST... but when I´m exploring and I have no certain imagination of the vocoded sound I aim for, MVocoder does the same or even better job as Vocodex...
What I want to say with this is... if you´re used to Morphoder and it´s resulting sound you may want to check if MVocoder does the job for you in your certain usecase... MVocoder is a great Vocoder but it sounds slightly different than the others (and so are they!!!). I think especially in Vocoder where a lot of filters and crossovers are used it will never sound the same when comparing two vocoders. They all got their character and this is good so... as much as I can tell you from my experience... the MVocoder sounds like all Melda plugins very "clean" and therefore can be used in a broad spectrum of usecases.
(If I wouldn´t have owned Vocodex before I went MComplete, I probably would use MVocoder exclusivly all the time....)

Thanks for your answer, operator!
I've been thinking about getting MXXXCore for the longest time...maybe it's time now
I wonder if Vojtech would be open to add a simple internal synth carrier to Mvocoder.
It would be great to get fast results for Background Vocals and Vocal ad-lips.
The noise feature in morphoder is great to get a "whisper" effect on vocals.

Hmmm... yes this "noise" parameter isn´t available right out of the box and maybe isn´t staight forward to solve even within MXXX... maybe a transform or granular in an additional layer could create the same results...
What does the manual say... what is this parameter doing??? what is the function behind it? As soon we know that, we can start recreating it...

Hmmm... doesn´t say that much about that... only says... modulated Noise Generation
(I think they ment "Generator")..
Maybe as second path it has not only a synth that is modulated by the Audio Input but also a Noise Generator that is modulated by the Input.
Therefore we would have to use two Vocoder inside of MXXX to get something similar... But I don´t now if it is possible to recreate the same sound as in Morphoder...

"The Morphoder offers a built-in Noise generator to “breed” the Carrier with an
airy sound. When mixed with the carrier signal, this can be very effective for
the sound of morphed speech sibilance. The noise generator is always
available and always on, but the amount of noise to mix will be controlled in
the Mixer section. The noise controls here are for filtering the otherwise
wideband white noise."
I don´t know what waves means with "breed" but it seems that the noise can be mixed with
the carrier or be modulated by the input without the synth carrier.

I actually created a breathiness plugin in MXXX. It sounds great. I will copy it out of the device and paste it here in the next week when I have time.

One more question. I remember you posting pictures from your custom made Melda Channelstrip.
Are there any plans for a official release of this device?

...and you could place it in the online "presets:exchange" as well, that way it won't get "lost." I've been working on something along those lines in melodyne...much different animal.../s~

Damn, now I know what people mean when they`re using the term "GearPorn"... it´s when a Noise Generator is having sex with the Input Signal... feel kind of dumb right now, I´ve always used this terminology wrong (silly me)...AGIGA wrote: Wed Jun 17, 2020 2:41 pm a built-in Noise generator to “breed” the Carrier [...] I don´t know what waves means with "breed" but ...
