I will try to explain how 'unique' are some similar sounds if an user have enough knowledge how to use them as layers - first filters, even only this change gives different color and vibe inside the mix, second osc combination directly could produce totally different sound and third ADSR changes gives a totally different dynamic and presence ...so i'would say that a pilot with 4000 hours flying expirience can't drive bycicle but users perspective is always 'bad','best','worse','better' so on nothing like this on structural design level but honestly i lost good mood i had when decide to make a joke here,so sorry again Nexus users, nobody say it's crap, just prices aren't what i would consider as competite end of story to me.Have a nice dayTannaliini wrote: Thu Jun 18, 2020 1:37 pm My view: I rather buy a sample pack that has less sounds than some other IF the sound pack has sounds which are “unique” (don’t mean unique like you’ve never heard before but unique in that pack/not the same sound multiple times with different names).
I just think it’s much nicer to browse through 100 unique sounds than go through 1000 sounds and find out only 100 of those sounds very unique![]()
Nexus 3 competitors?

I concur with the above especially the bold part and much of that is which is why I don't use them. It's unnecessary time wasted in my workflow. Along with that they've been EQ'd to fit in that SQ so thats more to change to separate it.SirkusPi wrote: Thu Jun 18, 2020 2:07 pm
I'm not personally, for my purposes, a fan of the premade SQ melodies, so I don't use them as such. But I am comfortable with diving into the layers, and indeed sometimes do go through an SQ's layers to isolate and then use an underlying sound. It's just kind of a pain and inconvenient, and I'd rather just have the pure sound as its own independent preset in the first place. As you say it's "a bit of a task." It's obviously not the biggest deal in the world, but it's just kind of a process drag.
Plus in the main they're often pitched at the more commercial end of the style for that particular expansion which is not usually where I'm aiming myself.

Sorry again for disturbing so many people and their cult synth with my joke, didn't expect such tremendous feedback, but it's amusing how some opinions r formed in the ocean of products - how can you define what is the real quality of a preset if rely on heavily mastered gorgeous demo instrumental, which probably is mastered with super expensive hardware so on fx,how could say anything about single preset quality before hear it as single instrument in pure state, then among other preset,so on multiple testing and in the end you decide that something isn't good or somebody isn't good designer cause the demo isn't so impressive/ made for 2 minutes, but show pure sound/,please i'm far from commercial and popular brand, can't say how successful business model work, but it's super relative all these quality comparisons and all 'my fan club against yours' game like football competition.Peace out

Ha ha, the next "Synthwave" collection ...outerspacecat wrote: Thu Jun 18, 2020 10:20 amWell, then please give me a link to any of these Kontakt libraries for €60 which can give me ready to play 100 % genre authentic presets including playable single sounds of the construction kits, including drum kits, sequences, arpeggios as well as an absolute pleasing demonstration where I can hear every single sound (!) contained in these expansions. I really would totally buy these highly professional Kontakt libraries for "wayyyyy under €60". Please bring em on...
Just to be clear: you get every single sound you hear in these demos. Every single one including the drums. Ready to play and tweak.
I have no clue how €60 can be considered too high for this unbelievable effort and high quality. These are full fledged productions where you can use every single sound(!), melodies as well as use the SQ presets for inspiration and or tweak them to your personal likings and mix the melodies with all other packs.
I've bought countless presets packs, sample packs and sample CDs (yes, that's how old I am), which cost a multiple of this price and were only full of painful fillers.
The thing about Nexus especially Vengeance is the high quality control of Manuel Schleis. This amount of work and perfection they provide for modern commercial dance music is unrivaled at least to my ears.
But maybe my ears are just broken. But with all due respect I have the feeling that some of you guys have to calibrate their ears or are just frustrated envious people...
At the moment just about every provider brings Synthwave and 80s and 90s stuff, because it's "back to the root time", I made such music a long time ago, too. And there are endless soundbanks and sample packs exactly with such sounds and there you often also get all the single sounds AND the midi files AND all used samples and not just one soundbank for Nexus!
Maybe you should check the real market first, before you post such crap! And I could write a long list with alternatives especially in that genre, but you have such a big mouth in your awkward post, so you can live in your world alone!
EDIT:
And the next one is a typical standard EDM expansion ...
I know a really great EDM source, where you get all sounds from the biggest EDM festivals exactly programmed and with multiple midifiles, too! With that you can create EDM tracks with much beer at one evenng! ...
You really should stop your posts and do your homework!
BUT IMPORTANT
Both Nexus expansions are good! I'm just laughing about you!

And the next oneTrancit wrote: Thu Jun 18, 2020 12:04 pm Name just one of the same kind of sound type!!
I don´t mean a single trumpet patch, which are offered for this money... a complete library out of 100+ sounds for less than 60,-€ and blows Nexus out of the water...
Just one name please!!!
Why should I tell you, where you get great and the best stuff, if you are thinking you are one of the genius here? For me it's easy, because I have everything and can compare everything. And it's good, that people like you praise Nexus like god, their marketing is absolute fantastic and they reach the right customers and I bought it, too! But while you and thousand others are using always the same sounds, because they're thinking, they found the sounds of god himself, I'm using everything!

I never attacked you...
You went into the thread with the statement there would be a ton of 20-40,-€ Kontakt libraries all not only better but devastating everything Nexus offers...
I ask you for just one single name... and what do you have to offer??? Hot air and personal attack...

No it's not-Yaz- wrote: Fri Jun 19, 2020 6:19 amExactly the very definition of a rompler is you're stuck with sounds they provide and cannot make your own from scratch which is the exact opposite of Omnisphere.
With rompler You can make your own sounds, but not Your own samples. But the rest of the engine is still there (filters, envelopes, modulations and effects).
I think "the stuck one" is called a preset player?
