I do wish this silence from the dev would end. It would be nice to have him pop by and say something like "it's all going along nicely".
I don't need an expected release date or full feature list.
Just something!

It's all going along nicely. Get on with your life. Smell the flowers. Make some music.

Me too.rpc9943 wrote:I'd rather a great solid release than buggy

I'd also like a solid Tracktion (1) release. There are some sync issues between audio and midi, and there is the missing or "skippy" first beat.
I'm guessing these issues will be sorted when T2 is out.

There are some sync issues between audio and midi? What would they be exactly?
The missing first note is a pain, it's true.
You know you can click on your audio input, click on auto-detect, and run a test to compensate for the latency of your soundcard, right? Does that help the sync issues you're seeing? I mention it because I don't think it's immediately obvious, or mentioned in the manual

Chico, I didn't know that, but it's not when recording I have this problem (I would never record anything with my current crappy soundcard anyways
). It's when I have some tracks with audio and some with midi, or even just midi tracks.
The timing and synching is just all over the place sometimes. Usually, clicking and dragging a clip to a different track and back again will fix it, but it is damn annoying.
E.g, I load a track that has audio and midi tracks with VST instruments. I press play, and timing/synch is all messy (and no thanks to my programming). I do the dragging thing with a clip and timing is on again.
Happens all the time, and it is killing me.

Tracktions timing for audio and midi is fine for me. Never had a problem. (I record audio and vsti).Breakpete wrote:The timing and synching is just all over the place sometimes. Usually, clicking and dragging a clip to a different track and back again will fix it, but it is damn annoying.

It's happened before for me on my laptop, but not on my main computer. Turning auto advance off and on seemed to fix it for me there. The main thing I want corrected is the problem with the stuck notes both in rendering and while editing.Breakpete wrote:Chico, I didn't know that, but it's not when recording I have this problem (I would never record anything with my current crappy soundcard anyways). Well, I'm not waiting much longer, plus I don't have any idea of what the new version will be better at anyway. I want better loop handling(you know the same thing Cubase added and Sonar already had.) Hell, I even like the Audio Studio that comes with Magix Music Studio deluxe. It's pretty good at pitch correction. Anyway, unless something is said one way or the other I'm switching to Cubase SL.

I'm using a laptop and the internal soundcard (SoundMAX). Could be something there.jtxx000 wrote:It's happened before for me on my laptop, but not on my main computer.
Man, I've got to get a new soundcard soon.
Anyways, I use two other hosts (Renoise and Orion) and have no such problems with them, so I put it down to the Tracktion code. The reason why T2 is taking so long may very well be because a total rewrite of the code was in order.

Heh, I switched to Tracktion from Acid in the same way. Acid 5 was taking forever to come out so I tried to find something better and found Tracktion. Now Acid 5 is out but I still would rather have Tracktion because it handels recording so much better.

Yeah, I came over from Sonar 2 because of the ease at just recording audio in Tracktion. But now I miss some of the more advanced features of programs like Sonar and Cubase. I'm not a drummer and I hate spending hours trying to perfect a drum pattern. I'm a keyboard player and just want to play. There are some pretty nice loop CD's out there and I think I just want to go back to using those. I also don't particulary care for working on midi tracks in Tracktion. But just for plugging in an instrument and noodling it still is pretty good. I was hoping to be part of some huge evolutionary process, but I may die of old age before that happens. I may just buy a program like Phatmatick or something and wait a bit longer. We'' see.Heh, I switched to Tracktion from Acid in the same way. Heh, when I was using Acid I could never find drum loops that sounded good with the song and got tired of going through hundreds of loops to not find a single one that fit. So I guess I actually like programming my own drum patterns better.
