The only thing I hate about Syntronik and SampleTank is their UI. Even important things like the volume knob are not presented on the front, at least on Syntronik. And navigation is irritating to say the least. I could go on and on, but I have better things to do.
I tried and didn't like SampleTank 4. But Syntronick GUI I like.

I really like both UI's. For me, they both have a very efficient workflow.

The thing I don't like about Syntronik that it's not easily mappable by DAW parameters in Ableton.
At least so far I didn't find any solution, but this one: I Have to use an extra Max4Live plugin Control8 to map parameters through midi, then it's assignable.
It does not seem to expose parameters to the DAW natively.

Wish someone would give away RX7 Elements. Never seems to come up...
Or I keep missing it?
I got it for $10 in Apr 2019. Hopefully it comes up again. IMO, it's the most valuable plugin of the elements suite. I have plugins that do what the other elements plugins do.

If you load Syntronik instruments in SampleTank 4 (even the free Custom Shop edition will work) MIDI learn becomes available on pretty much everything within the individual instrument screen. Admittedly that screen isn't skeumorphic so for example loading the J60 you won't see the colourful Juno style UI, but I think all the parameter options should be available via the various knobs, buttons, sliders and dropdowns. It's a bit of a con trick with the Syntronik UI, all the same parameter options are available across all the different instruments.

btw if you've never tried it, it sounds awesome to layer the two Syntronik 99 patches "Cathedral-esque" and "Chime Piano"

Exactly. Same problem in FL Studio as well.

And no previous/next preset buttons on the UI? Ridiculous. I usually don't criticize, but after using Arturia and NI products, I can't stand the UI and probably the only thing that stops me from using Syntronik and SampleTank. The sounds are great, but I don't feel inspired to use the plugins.

I love MODO BASS though and it is the only reason for me to keep TS2M.

Code 15OFFNL knocks of further $15, making it $48. Plus you get any one Soundsense library for free.

Sounds really tempting! Especially because I own XLN XO. Not that I am missing drum samples. ;)

Has anyone bought it? Please reply in chat thread if you want.
It’s a very nice package and works really well with XO, but for value I’d rather recommend the complete Samples From Mars bundle. The free Drum Machine sample packs from Reverb are a good fit too.

Thanks guys. I resisted the deal, because immediately after posting I realized that I had bought Samples From Mars bundle recently only (and I probably have the Wave Alchemy Synth Drums too). $48 saved. :tu:

These are all great recommendations. I'll have to check them all out.
It's amazing that XO is such a game changer for one-shot sample libraries. Never thought about the hits in my own collection until I got it. Now I can't stop playing them.

Agree about XO, but if XLN Audio added the possibility of round-robin samples in a version 2.0 I'd be delighted.

I'd be even happy if they add some randomization behavior found in analog drum machines.
Even a slight filter change over time could make the samples more organic.

What I like eg. with UVI Beatbox Anthology is, that you can export the midi and use this exact full loop for the sequencer to trigger it again directly. Then you can apply Ableton Live's Groove controls to the midi itself.

Afair it isn't possible in XLN, is it?

I've sent the feature requests to XLN when I bought it, and hope they'll do something about it. Can't be that hard to add some randomization modulation to trigger/velocity to the sequencer, can it? :D

I checked their Snare package. Many samples have clicks at the end (no zero crossing). That is 100% unprofessional and I was surprised to hear that from a company that have been in the business for so long.
As quality is concerned, I am not even sure if these samples are worth the time. Drums are very important for the quality of a finished production. Not having the best possible samples will make your music have less impact than it could have had. In other words: Bad sounds (not only drums) are detrimental. Even if you eventually do not use them, they will will at least cost you time because it takes you longer to find the good ones.
My perspective today is that it is sometimes better to pay good money and get few but top professional samples (Gravitas Create, Singomakers, 5Pin Media, Freaky Loops, Black Octopuss, Splice ... I am btw not vouching for everything on these labels/platforms. I am always listening critically to every new release. Singomakers have recently released packs that I do not find useful.) than having 10x the number of samples that are only good or even mediocre or junk.
That said, there are libraries like Black Octopuss Leviathan 2, that are not expensive when on sale (for a while, it was $20 or so) and have quite solid drums.
