GoldieK, WatchTheGuitar, & LoveEnigma18, Thank you all... I went ahead and purchased
*I missed the SNACKS code, but still seemingly a nice deal without it.

Just a note that Plugin Alliance is sharing it's email list with Audio Plugin Deals (and who knows who else).
I have an email address specifically only for Plugin Alliance, and today got the Audio Plugin Deals email at that address.

So is Eastwest's new thing for sales to just do 60% off? I just got an e-mail about a father's day 60% off sale but the other stay at home promo is still going.

-60 % is the best they’ve ever sold. However, some vendors, e.g. ADL, offer some extras over that - I just purchased the Hollywood Backup Singers for $ 130+, which is pretty good for such a recent library.timbit2006 wrote: Sat Jun 20, 2020 6:39 pm So is Eastwest's new thing for sales to just do 60% off? That's actually the one I'm getting too. I think it came out in 2020 so unless they have another everything sale I doubt it'll get put back on for a while.Harry_HH wrote: Sat Jun 20, 2020 6:57 pm-60 % is the best they’ve ever sold. True, there are lots of effects on the patches. I think NI's idea for these expansions is to be genre specific to contempo styles like grind ,drill and others. People writing for areas like reality TV really benefit from having out of the box starting points like this.telecode wrote: Fri Jun 19, 2020 8:01 pmToo many effects on NI expansions.blue monk wrote: Fri Jun 19, 2020 5:16 pmI have and like some of the NI Expansions. They have different producers for each. Not all NI Expansions are equally great. I am not blindly buying everything from a certain company.LoveEnigma18 wrote: Fri Jun 19, 2020 4:36 pm I also like the samples and loops included in NI Expansions. They are not dry, but are of excellent quality.
In case of the Leviathan series by Black Octopuss that I mentioned, I think part 1 and 2 have different producers and 3 has different producers than 2 and 1.
Vandalism has been sold to new owners, I think. The quality of their synth patches has changed.
But there are some companies that I check out the demos for their new libraries.
Origin Sound and Production Maser are two more I haven't mentioned, yet. Of course, there is more that I can't remember from the top of my head right now. But I dropped a few names for you.
A particular pack series I do remember: Wicked Drums 1 and 2 by Black Octopuss are worth checking out.

Deluxe was $199 in May and there was a crossgrade for it that was $135.telecode wrote: Thu Jun 18, 2020 2:50 pm The Syntronix crazy deal seems to come to ~$48 CDN with Jam points. Can anyone confirm, wasn't the Syntronix Deluxe on sale not that long ago. Its the $135 the sale price, or was it 50% off that?

Sorry, the US distributor does not let us discount it. They also had US dealers start it a day later than Europe for some reason.timbit2006 wrote: Sat Jun 20, 2020 4:14 am Zynaptiq Unfilter is on for 60% off. Does anyone know any sites that do the whole 15% discount thing that carries it?
I'm ideally hoping JRR gets it and is just slow to list the deal.

EastWest announced that the new version of Hollywood Orchestra. I'm guessing this prolonged 60% sale has something to do with that. From what they told me about it in January, there will be some amazing new technology in it by Wolfgang Kundrus (creator of Nuendo and Studio One).timbit2006 wrote: Sat Jun 20, 2020 6:39 pm So is Eastwest's new thing for sales to just do 60% off? Hi there folks! I decided to give Ableton a try. Then I remembered I've read this and really appreciate the idea. I was wondering if maybe more people have licenses sitting in their account and would like to do something as @autodafe proposed. Instead of buying directly here, I'll donate to a charity if I get one license for free. If someone is interested, please drop me a PM. Thanks!autodafe wrote: Thu Jun 04, 2020 7:07 pmI just discovered I have 3 Live 10 lite licenses sitting in my account. If you want one, I can give it to you for free, we just need to arrange for a License transfer (can't remember how it works but there's a "transfer license" button).dlt123 wrote: Thu Jun 04, 2020 6:37 pm Anyone have a free copy of Ableton Live 10 Lite along with the serial number, they are willing to give away or sell cheap? I will eventually get a copy when my new Arturia Keylab MK2 keyboard arrives,
If in exchange you'd want to make any donation to any charity you like, that would be super-cool.
PM me
edit: done. kidslow had a spare license and sent me a message, etc...

Sounds interesting. Will this new tech replace all/most previous libraries?Uncle E wrote: Sun Jun 21, 2020 8:22 amEastWest announced that the new version of Hollywood Orchestra. Btw - concerning the Hollywood Backup Singers, for me was letdown, that - as beautifully its recorded and vocals are great - you can’t separate the voices.
I understand that EW has saved space by recording all 3 singers to the same samples, but at least some basic vocals (uuhs and aahs) they should have recorded as separate samples per vocalist.
Now, if you will do the most common vocal backup, create a three-part harmony for the background, you will always have minimum 9 (!) singers. This is too thick background in my opinion in most of the cases.
What I will, is to be able to put the singer A tonal character to sing the root note, the singer B with a different timbre to sing the second voice (e.g. the third), and the singer C tonal character to sing the third voice (e.g. the fifth). I would like to pan these three voices separately to the space.
Now, this is unfortunately not possible with the EW Hollywood Backup Singers. EW has lost, in my opinion, the opportinity to create a really useful vocal library.
Once the EW was doing all these samples, why not separate, not all, but some vocals?
Now only separated vocals are rather useless ad lib solos. What a waste.
It now good, but not brilliant.
