I feel the same. I was excited to get Lion and Egoist at great prices but I've hardly used them. The thing with Egoist is the time it will take to figure it out. When I start working ,I still go to Massive X, Omnisphere and Serum even though I have tons of other synths. I dont mind forking out money for FX, or Sound makers but something like the PSP reverb on offer now is basically too little, too late: I dont see enough there even at $29 that I dont have covered with Waves , Eventide and the Arturia freebe plate. Cant imagine how they were getting $150 for this as times have changed. I watched videos of the PSP reverb and the Waldorf synth last night. Might still go in on the latter, as the cpu friendly aspect is importantfrackermak wrote: Mon Jun 22, 2020 4:16 pmExactly.Digivolt wrote: Mon Jun 22, 2020 3:42 pmI got an extra email from APD with an additional $5 off for getting the free Waldorf synths they gave away, trying to decide if I want to buy it as I feel I have enough synthspaolostylo wrote: Mon Jun 22, 2020 10:02 amYeah, this price is insane!!!WatchTheGuitar wrote: Mon Jun 22, 2020 8:56 am Waldorf Largo (kind of the soft synth take on their hardware Blofeld synth) for $30 at APD for next 2 weeks

I've hardly touched DS Thorn. The last "no brainer" I couldn't resist...
That said, just watching a YouTube vid. Does seem capable of some proper filthy noises..

I've lusted after the Largo before, bought it and sold it. Still something about the sound that bothers me. It's too tin-y. Bass-only presets sound good though. The preset browser is pretty bad too. And I have way too many other synths that seem to cover everything I need anyway. Great deal if you need that sound or a vst with the capabilities it has, but otherwise I'd personally pass.

These are terrible times with such terrific bargains nearly every second day, nearly every week. How can one pass up such cheap prices for such revered (virtual, digital) gear. Terrible times indeed.

I have been passing up many no-brainer deals.
I have tamed my GAS and now buy no-brainer deals if they are 50% lower.
Well there are few exceptions.

FWIW.. I picked it up. I don't have a Waldorf synth in my setup and like the idea of mixing different synths from different vendors to try to get some sort of diversity in the sounds. The Largo sounds unique to my ears and had a much lower CPU hit than others.Digivolt wrote: Mon Jun 22, 2020 3:42 pmI got an extra email from APD with an additional $5 off for getting the free Waldorf synths they gave away, trying to decide if I want to buy it as I feel I have enough synthspaolostylo wrote: Mon Jun 22, 2020 10:02 amYeah, this price is insane!!!WatchTheGuitar wrote: Mon Jun 22, 2020 8:56 am Waldorf Largo (kind of the soft synth take on their hardware Blofeld synth) for $30 at APD for next 2 weeks

Yeah I've been listening to preset demo's and they convinced me to pick it up myself, I like the filter drive and resonance has some interesting characteristics perfect for making Trancetelecode wrote: Mon Jun 22, 2020 9:05 pmFWIW.. If you want the sounds of a Waldorf synth, JRR has extensively sampled the Waldorf Quantum for Kontakt / Halion / others (511 patches and 27GB of samples), on sale for $22 (I think it's more like $18.50 with code forum or group).telecode wrote: Mon Jun 22, 2020 9:05 pmFWIW.. As well as Waldorf Blofeld and Waldorf Streichfett for Kontakt / Halion etc. (817 patches and 26G of samples) for $22 (probably $18.50 with code).

Doesn't allow you to tweak the synth's original parameters yourself, but the sound quality might be better.

Was visiting a few sites and stumbled across a new Vocoder on the Xils Labs site, the XILS 201 Vocoder.
It's on intro offer currently at €89 with an RRP of €149.

https://www.xils-lab.com/products/xils- ... p-165.html
Quite why they released yet another vocoder (this makes their third IIRC) I'm not sure and I'm certainly not in the market for one, but the Daft Punk demo video sounded pretty good.
