So it looks like i am the only one who tried the 1984 sound on this VSTi ?
My posts from page 21 and 22 totally ignored ?
People first want a perfect emulation and then don't care when someone finds a little flaw ?

I've got very interested, run few simulations that would explain few things, but some details does not add up (I would need to open OB-Xa for investigation). There might be a workaround with current version, but I can't be sure right now.Mutant wrote: Mon Jun 22, 2020 6:40 pm So it looks like i am the only one who tried the 1984 sound on this VSTi ?

Not sure I even want to try, it is such a basic sound.
Can I download the audio somehow so that I can import it into my DAW?
Since I can't listen to audio files while my DAW is open (an ASIO thing I guess), a/b-ing would be a pita

Never mind, it is a boring patch, anyway...

I decided that i am now officially out from any OBsession vs OB-Xa V discussions. Others might feel free to do endless discussions about this.
I am quite biased there and my own opinion on this topic is quite clear anyway (and will not change anytime soon).
I had the demo of OB-Xa V installed since it was released but i finally deinstalled it now.

I would have thought he would have used more similar patches to compare. Especially as a sound designer himself who seems to whip out banks in lightning time, I would have thought he would try to do similar patches on both to compare.CircuitEYE wrote: Mon Jun 22, 2020 7:49 pm This is interesting.....
Synapse Audio Obsession VS Arturia OB-Xa
That said, It is still not even close to me... Arturia for the GUI and Preset Browswer, and Obsession for the sound.

Does Obsession come with the original stock patches? If so it would be easy to compare it with the OB-Xa V ones.

Strangely enough no it doesn't (unless they are renamed and blended in with the rest of the patches)Rends wrote: Mon Jun 22, 2020 9:32 pm Does Obsession come with the original stock patches? If so it would be easy to compare it with the OB-Xa V ones.

No and the demo doesn't allow saving presets.Rends wrote: Mon Jun 22, 2020 9:32 pm Does Obsession come with the original stock patches? If so it would be easy to compare it with the OB-Xa V ones.
I think it includes 40 presets (demo).

For a non-Arturia customer the price is a big argument in favor of the SA. I mean, 200 bucks for the Arturia?! Seems like a crazy price for what is a rather simple synth in my view.
