Sure but wouldn't you rather do them yourself since they're your lyrics?

It’s ok. I guess I’ll do them myself.

9th track from my upcoming CD "Outtakes II"

I am really curious to know what prog rock group you guys think this sounds like because after going through all my influences from the 70s, I can't think of one in particular.

Gateway To The Galaxy

Shifting time and space
Oh I'm in such a happy place
I see Venus, I see Mars
I see my life hopping bars

If only I could escape
Is it really not my fate
Floating endlessly about
In space they can't hear you shout

Lift off it's come to pass
This rocket's going fast
The heat of Mercury
As far as I can see
Jupiter's on the way
To live another day
Pluto you used to be
A planet I could see
But for now it's just you and me
Gateway to the galaxy

Beyond who knows what's there
Truth told I do not care
I only want to live
I need the stars to give
Whatever comes to me
I will just wait and see
No one can take away
This joy I have today
But for now it's just you and me
Gateway to the galaxy

Instrumental Break

And so it's time to leave
I hope you will believe
I had to go this way
To live another day
Someday I will return
That's when you all will learn
That this was meant to be
I need to be set free
But for now it's just you and me
Gateway to the galaxy

Maybe Styx?

Except Styx was never really that prog. They were more hard rock and sometimes flat out pop rock. I certainly wouldn't put them in the same category with Yes, Kansas, Gentle Giant and groups like that.

"What prog rock group you guys think this sounds like because after going through all my influences from the 70s"....... Sounds like Genesis "Firth of Fifth" with a dash of "Moonlit Knight". The sound instrumentation was spot on in most the song. The challenges are a clumsy transition at 1:38 and 3:35. In typical Prog fashion you re-introduce the opening motif and close. Could you please review my last tune “Cities Fueled” it has not gotten any comments yet. Thanks.

Thanks for the listen and the feedback. Much appreciated. Will check out your track ASAP. Have a great day.

3:28 nice guitar. Quite Pink Floyd-ish.
Like how you arranged the end of the verse, the last two lines. It added a bit of energy.
It was good; the track seemed to be a "journey" which fitted in well with the subject.

Thanks. These kind of tracks are always so hard to do. Prog rock is not for the timid. Sometimes I pull these off and sometimes, well, not so much. This one, somewhere kind of in between. Done better, done worse.

If you’re talking more so prog, maybe Yes? The riffs remind me of something from Yes’ 90210 album from Owner Of A Lonely Heart mixed with Roundabout from the 70s.
I also hear a bit of Lamb Lies Down On Broadway by Genesis in there, and some King Crimson. Definitely you could use a Moog bass sound in there playing alongside the bass guitar sound, and it would also work. That synth solo gives me more Arp vibes, but the 2600 was something Genesis used so it makes sense too,
I can see how Styx is a bit more poppier, but the transitions between slow and fast reminded me of Angry Young Man by them.
Also, is the Mellotron from M-Tron Pro?

Well, these are all groups I listened to growing up as a kid so it's no surprise if you hear any or all of them in just about anything I do.

Yeah, some of the synths you use remind me of Rick Waksman and Tony Banks, and also King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard vibes from the Mellotron flute. They’re a new psych and prog rock band who I think you’ll like.

10th track from my upcoming CD "Outtakes II"

Make sure you have your insulin shot before listening to this.

You Make The World Go Boom

You got it girl
Set my heart on fire
Get me all worked up
No I'm not a liar

How I want you more
When I see your face
No one else like you
In the human race

You make the world go boom
Everyone else gets blown away
You make the world go boom
Hey, hey, hey

Ever since we met
You were the only one
Way you moved your bod
Made me feel so young

We could get it on
Yeah just you and me
Don't you want me too
Baby can't you see

Repeat Chorus

Boom. Boom. Boom
Boom, Boom, Boom
Boom, Boom, Boom
Yeah

Repeat Chorus To Fade

Reminds me of some 80’s Japanese or Korean music for some reason. Maybe it’s the sugary synths.

The background vocals might have something to do with it too.
