I really can't recall people being bothered by forum topics which they say they don't bother about too much so they bother to comment anyway to say that they are not bothered... so much back in the days. They just used the things, and got a whole lot more done than the people nowadays.

The newest trend is that GUIs are designed to be dark coloured. It makes some lines and elements difficult to see. Unfortunately, not all GUIs can be color-customised. Some that CAN be customised only give you dark options which defeats the purpose of the customisation capability. My example of this is Cubase. I loved the light theme back in Cubase 5.

Another change is rounded vs squared edges. FL Studio has used both before on the MIDI Piano Roll. Rounded edges on the piano roll made it difficult to tell where the far edge actually is. I'm glad they switched back to squared.

It has been option since it’s introduced. 10 years ago? Menu>View

Honestly, this is the appeal of Pro Tools for me. Over the years, the GUI fundamentally hasn't changed much and it's super streamlined. So many DAWs are just so BUSY now.

I think this also happens a lot with FL Studio. A lot of people tend to prefer FL10 and 11, even to this day, after both FL12 and FL20. So there's this interesting divide with people working on the newest version of the software and staying on the last version of FL11.
Take care

Cubase 6 was really awesome.

Talking about old version, I like Live 8's simple browser. It just works.

Same. It seems to me that software in general often/sometime(?) gets worse after “upgrade.”
