Yes, I hope there aren't people judging this on the strength of it's factory presets - as I feel they may end up missing a bargain here. Spend a little time with this beast and you can coax out a wide variety of excellent sounds - and with a sound character that makes it unique in my collection, certainly. The low CPU hit is welcome too! Wish I'd got this years ago.

Excellent bargain indeed, instabuy.

Largo is one of the synths that Aiyn Zahev recommends for its sound quality especially for dance music.

Sound quality is top notch, the GUI is easy going, lot of options, multilayer structure, actually one of the best lp filter i've taste, but my preferences are kind of twisted already after 13 000 presets i made so far and if i don't feel comfortable with some part of the synth usually just miss it:)Don't know may buy it in the end - for producers is no brainer deal for sure :)Cheers :)

Hi,
Does anyone know when the last update was released and whether or not Waldorf will continue development of this or this is current product in name only?

I found some 3rd party preset demos which create much better impression of Largo than the factory sounds

I would put it in the same category of synths as Xpand2, Sylenth1 and logics ES2. I don’t feel the wow for this synth when listening to the demos, more of a metallic, shiny old vst technology feeling. It sounds very techno-ish. It would definitely be more interesting if I where into techno. But I will download the demo and try it out!

Techno? :o

Waldorf's synths are usually THE Ambient/Spacebient machines. They even marketed them once like that. I remember a picture of a exhibition booth with a slogan like "Dedicated to space music", or something similar. And, as a user, I can totally relate to that.

That doesn't mean you can't use them for anything else, of course. But, I wouldn't really say they lend themselves especially to Techno. Not at all.

Techno like Stephan Bodzin I think, not 2Unlimited :D

The factory "Occasional" PAD sounds wonderful to me - OB like with some added sparkly after

Really sounds sublime

Any hint on where the volume knob can be found?
