chord clips can contain multiple cords. or you use many chord clips with a single chord. depending on your workflow.
  • shorten the chord clip (by splitting) and duplicate it?
  • create a new chord clip containing mentioned chords?
  • use the arrows on the side of the chord clip to change chord
to change the entire key of a song, you alter the key in the master/transport section

To temporarily change the key, look to your master track and insert a key change there.

It's not obvious, but the Tempo track handles key changes and time signature changes as well as tempo changes.

It's also not obvious how it works. I only know about it because it was mentioned in passing in a video about something else.

As always, it's best to have the Important Thingy (Control Panel? Bottom Area? Most Useful Thing That Is By Default Squished Making Important Things Much More Difficult To Do And Describe?) enlarged. When it's in its default squished state the button that you can use to accomplish your goal is not visible.

The Tempo track has its usual blue line for setting the tempo but on the left side it also has small indicators for time signature and key. If you click on the key it turns red and down in the Important Thingy you will find a button to add a key change at the cursor.

Some of these actions can be accessed from the Actions Panel. If you star them, they will be accessible when the Important Thingy is squished.

There are keyboard shortcuts for adding tempo, time signature, and key changes at the cursor.
Alt-T for tempo
Alt-S for (time) signature
Alt-P for pitch

And as a bonus, Alt-C for adding a chord clip at the cursor into the Chords track.

Surely there must be consensus by now...
