Hi Urs and Viktor.. a quick question.. is the audio engine the same for hive 2 and hive 1.2 and can I install both but in seperate locations on my computer or will that mess with the computers registry.. I find all the modular extras in hive 2 a bit intimidating to navigate or should I just install hive 1.2

Parallel installs may be tricky because they report the same plug-in ID to the host.
I'd highly recommend to simply ignore the two AR-envelopes if they bother you, and definitely try to work out the Shape Sequencer. It's a very simple concept that is more simplistic than its equivalents in, say, Spire or Massive, but a lot of fun because of a few little twists.

Hi Urs, thank you very much for the advice, the core synth engine of Hive 1.2 and Hive 2 and is the same I am assuming. . Ie the core presets should sound the same? Or are there slight variances on the core synth engine and the wavetable implementation in terms of the sound?

The sounds should be exactly the same because Hive 2 is a superset of Hive 1.2 with the addition of wavetables and other functionality.

Yeah sound didn't change. Everything got better. Learn the new modulators!

If you wish, ignore the new modulators... the modulation assignments are improved so Hive 2 is actually faster to work with than Hive 1.2surreal wrote: Mon Jun 29, 2020 2:43 pm Hi Urs and Viktor.. a quick question.. is the audio engine the same for hive 2 and hive 1.2 and can I install both but in seperate locations on my computer or will that mess with the computers registry.. then over time, you may find the new modulators make sense and are both powerful and easy to use. Hive 2 is a workflow improvement and is worth it for that alone.
