GPU Resources

I just have integrated graphics, HD 630, right now but I'm getting GPU resource errors. Gonna get an RTX 2060 Super soon but just thought I'd mention this. Resource monitor says I'm only using about 16% of my GPU.

Yes, I've had the same issue lately with Version 14.7 in Reaper 6.12c. There is definitely something wrong. I've never had this problem with earlier Melda Versions even with big projects (+100 Tracks) and now the error message pops up when I have a few tracks engaged.
Error Message:
Sorry, your system is out of GPU resources. The software will switch to CPU emulated mode.
Error creating OpenGL context. No error description available.
System:
Intel Core i5-9600K@3.7GHz
Intel UHD Graphics 630

Samsung 970 EVO Plus 500GB M.2 PCIe

strange question, did you install version 14.07, there was a problem with it, when it came out, see threads below. it is fixed, but it has the same version number. it was a day or two when it came out. so download the "latest" installer, it was better, if it was called 14.07.1 or so..AGIGA wrote: Wed Jul 01, 2020 8:14 pm Yes, I've had the same issue lately with Version 14.7 in Reaper 6.12c. perhaps it is that problem. i have no problems here with melda production plugins.
EDIT: HD630 has openGL support for version 4.4, that is the latest version, i think.
EDIT 2: newest drivers for HD630??

I had installed 14.07 on May 30th and, being aware there were two same-named releases, was pretty sure that I had the most recent one active. I just downloaded again from the Melda site and the version numbers are identical.
My Intel drivers are up to date. I'll add that I hadn't had a problem until a few days ago. I did do a Windows Fresh Start but don't recall any issues with Melda and it's been about a month. Then again, I've been working on other things and lately I've been going through the Modulator tutorials so I'm more actively using things the last couple days.
In any case, I just reinstalled. I'll post if I keep getting the error. Thanks.

This is the reply from the melda support (I haven't tried if it makes any difference yet):
Unfortunately, it is caused because of your graphic card.
Anyways, please, try to set the GPU acceleration (available in settings of the plugin) to compatibility mode or disable.
*Compatibility mode uses the GPU for drawing, but doesn't use modern technologies for maximum performance. Use it if you experience occasional problems with drawing, the usual case for older ATI graphics cards. With Pro Tools on OSX this mode is always used instead of Enabled mode due to compatibility problems with this host.
Disabled mode disables GPU acceleration completely, drawing is then performed by the CPU. Use only if you experience technical difficulties.
A known problem may occur when using multiple displays with multiple graphical interfaces. When moving the plugin window from one display to another, it may stop displaying correctly until you move it back to the original display.

Oh, I didn't know that existed. Thanks.
I had an issue with my backup too and did some sfc /scannow or whatever in powershell and it found and fixed corrupted windows files so now I can't really be sure.
Like I said, I'll update if I have issues and I'll try compatibility mode too.

Yeah, the compatibility problem should resolve most cases. The full GPU acceleration uses a bit "extreme" measures to optimize the hell out of it and most GPU drivers don't have a problem with it. Unfortunately every now and then (generaly Intel...) the GPU driver fails... well, we live in a world, where the software is so complex, that keeping it bulletproof is virtually impossible

I understand. My RTX 2060 is now up and running so I'll be sure to update if there are issues. Thanks.
