Beware of the user Shaygan

I offered Shaygan $21 for Magnum-K (he was asking $20), and said the extra $1 was to help cover PayPal fees.
This seller responded by asking if I could send PayPal as friends & family and said they wouldn't even be able to do the PA transfer today.

Ultra fishy.

I’d advise you not to be so hasty as to call someone out on speculation. It reflects on you.

Just following the guidelines:

If you have received a PM from an unfamiliar person, requesting the Friends and Family payment option instead of Goods and Services, to warn others you can report it in this thread (as well as reporting the PM to the moderation staff in the usual way).

Please don't make any accusations, as not everyone who does this is a scammer. Just consider it a warning, a heads-up to other KVR members to be suspicious.



I didn’t say they were a scammer. Just that they weren’t doing business legitimately.

I think it’s fishy, but for a public post maybe “Ultra” (meaning beyond) looks like an accusation. You have motivation for what you’re doing that I have no business in, so I’ll get my coat. sorry

You may not be proven as a scammer Scarlettlol but you have undeniably proven yourself to be a complete ass. I think the prospective buyer asked a reasonable question of you and I would ask the same if the shoes were on my feet. Your reaction is out of line, if you ask me, which you did implicitly, by crossposting from a locked threat into this one.

[Edited to add] All your rando postings made to push the offending thread down off the front page are completely transparent. I'll leave a link here for posterity so other members of the KVR community can form their own opinions. Even if you're not a scammer, I wouldn't do business with you.

Don't forget guys that he supported Introman and is apparently also still active elsewhere like VI control etc... they could be some kind of network. I would initiate Paypal disputes from now if you bought from him, and/or contact the companies and ask them about the situation in order not to lose your licenses later.

I need some advice.

I am waiting for a refund from PayPal since more than a month after my PayPal dispute got closed in my favour. I did not receive any email from PayPal about case closure or refund initiation, which is ridiculous. Because of COVID19 the team looks to be unavailable, and I need to keep using chat support, which is the worst and most pathetic chat support ever. I am not getting proper answers. Some guys say it has been initiated, some say it is not.

Does anyone know how to escalate the issue further? Their phone support is down and I am totally helpless.

These days it seems to me that they are intentionally doing all this and perhaps don't want to refund me. I am frustrated like anything.

I have used Paypal twitter in the past as someone recommended it. They took less time to reply compared to the idiotic paypal chat support where two representatives will have two different opinions. In my case Paypal Twitter gave me relevant information regarding my account with detailed insight but my case was specialised like paypal credit so they directed me to the right people. In general it was helpful. Try and see what they can do for you.

Exactly - the chat support is just there for the sake of it, no one is knowledgeable enough to help.

ugh.. one of my first purchases here was from Scarlettlol. I don't quite understand the intricacies of plug-in trading yet.. but what were they doing? using a keygen to create fake licenses? I don't want to find out I paid for illegal stuff in like a year when I can't get my money back. I'm just a little confused on how exactly they were doing it. If I reach out to P-A they will be able to confirm the legitimacy of my licenses?

No the licenses would seem paid for somehow. TBH it can be hard to spot and if it weren't for this one mistake he made that I was lucky to spot I would have went ahead and paid him. It was just intuition at the end of the day from all the little things that add up: his post history, feedback, join date etc...

I think I'll just stick from now on to active contributing members and not just those who mostly live in the Sell & Buy and with join dates of less than 3 years ago. That should pretty much weed out 95% of the risk.

PA wouldn't realize anything until the credit card holds are declared, but at least if you contact them they can take your case into consideration and help with keeping your licenses should anything happen.
