Rats, I was convinced it would be clips and a clip launcher and that I wouldn’t need to upgrade or be interested in the hardware....now I may have to spend more money!
That SQ looks like a really interesting controller....

Interesting.
I'm quite the opposite - I was sure to upgrade, but now I'm not really convinced. I don't really like the 'new' look of native devices and the controller looks like Akai Fire 'lite'. I hoped they'll unify the plugins more, but they've actually made them further apart by flattening & simplifying some of them (that Pro EQ2) and further skeuomorphisizing others (Analog Delay). And the former are still not black/dark or changing colors, like all the XT devices. Hopefully there's more.

Yeh, the controller looks aimed at the stem sequencer features, so perhaps they are going for the FL Studio crowd rather than the Live crowd (after all, Bitwig is all ready doing that).
The controller is only 250 bucks and has a display, so competitively priced...
As for the new GUIs, looks like thy have added colour, it’s another rainbow update

This looks dope and appealing similar to push I already own.
They are on point in my books. I will buy this.

Interesting controller! And we already know that it's closely integrated into Ableton Live as it comes with a free copy of Live Lite.
Interesting to see what other features Studio One 5 will bring to the table other than the plugin GUIs.

So, the stock plugins got a great update, visually and also in terms of work I guessmidiboss wrote: ↑Tue Jul 07, 2020 6:01 am A peak into Artist v5 version from https://www.bhphotovideo.com/explora/pr ... -our-times (https://www.bhphotovideo.com/explora/pro-audio/news/presonus-releases-atom-sq-a-midi-controller-for-our-times)
FX channel doesn't have a send. There is no Stereo Panning. The Browser is not detachable. Transport controls are not detachable. No custom icons for channels. It is kind of disappointing given the hype. That's all I can see, may be I am wrong and I sincerely hope I am wrong.

I'm sure they'll be all kinds of goodies even after release time . There were a lot of goodies given away in some of the point updates of version 4 . I'm totally NOT interested in the Atom SQ , yet .... I have the Atom and Launchpad X as well as Live 10 too though .

They are one of most voted feature requests. That's why I mentioned them.antic604 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 07, 2020 8:29 amFunny how none of those matter to me.chokstarmusic wrote: ↑Tue Jul 07, 2020 8:15 amFX channel doesn't have a send. So what do you expect? Will the prices for version 4 and for the current Atom drop after today?
The SQ starts to resemble a midi keyboard if you ask me, not sure whether I like it or not

Looks like the arranger sections finally start getting useful by allowing overhang at both ends... I could be wrong of course, but I doubt it...every single visible clip border hangs over the edge.midiboss wrote: ↑Tue Jul 07, 2020 6:01 am A peak into Artist v5 version from https://www.bhphotovideo.com/explora/pr ... -our-times

It looks similar to this, for example:LocalTrack19 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 07, 2020 8:52 amThe SQ starts to resemble a midi keyboard if you ask me, not sure whether I like it or not
I definitely appreciate USB-power and the fact how small Atom SQ is (the knobs look HUGE on it, so it must be small, right?). If the integration & feature set is on point, then it might be pretty great indeed, especially at this price point.

I was thinking it was more Korg Electribe/AkAi Fire...its a bit different anyway (not and 8x8 square) so I am immediately more interested as I already have that covered! If it has good intermigration with a (probably updated) step editor it realy could FL Studio a run for its money....a lot of people seem to like composing that way.
