The Aux track is the midi track I think according to what they showed. So if you create an Aux track with your external synth set as the input it will be it's own kind of track. I haven't tested this yet since S1's site is borked but that's what I've seen in some videos.antic604 wrote: Tue Jul 07, 2020 9:15 pmIsn't that the case in most DAWs, though?apoclypse wrote: Tue Jul 07, 2020 9:03 pmMost exciting feature for me are Aux Channels. Using external hardware has always been a pin in S1. You had to create a midi instrument, then an audio track. Now we can have that in one channel.
Also, are they actually connected? So if you select MIDI track in arranger the Aux track gets selected in console? Or if I'd drag an audio FX onto the MIDI track, will it be added to the Aux track? I was frankly very surprised in the way they've handled it. It's much more elegant in Bitwig, for example.
I don't know if Bitwig's approach is more elegant, it's just different. Bitwig, Logic, Live have a very similar approach of using an external instrument plugin. While Presonus chose to make a whole track type from what I'm gathering.
