Just today noticed these downloads for MSoundFactory and downloaded them.
The installation instructions say to open MSoundFactory and press the menu button to install, but I don’t see a “menu” button in MSoundFactory, just in the MXXX it resides in.
I tried using the MXXX menu button to install the downloads, but got this message:

"Could not create path “MeldaProduction” "

Would love to install these downloads!

Decide where you want to stash the samples then create a folder there named MSoundFactory.
Then in MXXX > Settings > SAMPLER > Set the Root to your location '........./ MSoundFactory'.
Then in MXXX > Install product > navigate to the product file (can be anywhere E.G. desktop).
The installation process will put the samples in your location.
The product file can now be deleted (just like any other installer).

Anyway, that worked for me (windows 10) but if you have not already defined a sample path, I believe the installer would ask you to do so, but perhaps that only happens when installing from within the standalone MSF.

goldglob -- Thanks so much for your advice! As you pointed out, the key was in setting up a viable path in the settings for the sampler. I finally got one set up that worked, and all's installed. Yay! Thanks again!

I have the same problem but get an error message saying 'no such file or directory'.
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Could you tell us more about what you've done so far?
I'm assuming you've downloaded the factory content installer (MSoundFactoryEssentials). That should be an .mproduct file. Is it on your desktop? It contains everything needed to install the product including the samples in some sort of compressed form I guess and other things that will end up in factory locations (preset files etc).

It looks like you want the eventual content on your desktop, which seems unusual?
What exactly did you enter in the sample location field?
Had you already created an MSoundFactory folder on desktop?
E.G. I have an MSoundFactory folder on a separate drive I use mainly for samples.
In MSF I've defined that sample path...just E:\MSoundFactory
The installation adds the further folders so that it ends up being E:\MSoundFactory\MeldaProduction\MSoundFactoryEssentials

@goldglob thanks for the reply. The first couple of times I followed your instructions to the letter. The Sampler directory set to the correct folder where I keep other Melda stuff. As a final attempt I put the flies together on the desktop and tried to install it there (hence the unusual file locations of the screenshot).
I've even downloaded the .mproduct file twice to try again. No joy.

What a mystery.
When you say "I put the files together on the desktop"...what files exactly?

Some thoughts (but I'm not sure about what difference they would make):
Are you attempting installation from within standalone MSF or from within MXXX and if MXXX is it MXXX Core or full?
Which version of MSF do you have..player, LE, full?
Have you tried reinstalling all your Melda stuff and ticking the 'Quick clean-up' (or 'Full system clean-up') option.

Solved! I was copying and pasting the folder's location into the Melda Sampler data location. Used the search tab this time to manually select the correct location and Boom! It's installing. Thanks a lot for your help, very considerate of you.
