This is probably a stupid question... Mulab midi tempo

...and probably applies to any sequencer. But when importing a midi file, Mulab immediately changes the default tempo from 120 bpm to 95. The actual midi file I've imported is actually about 125 bpm. (Not sure why that#'s happening, I assume some wrong info in the midi file at the start?) Is there any way to keep the original tempo of the midi file and somehow sync Mulab to it? I don't usually use pre-made midi files so this is new to me. It's driving me nuts. I know it's a simple problem, I just don't want to have to rewrite/copy the whole midi file and rhythms as it's 5 mins long. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

:EDIT: I was on MUlab 5 and upgraded tonight to 8. Same phenomenon on both though.

You can edit the tempo changes via right-click on the time bar -> Edit Tempo Changes. There you can also remove tempo changes.

Oh I know, but the midi info seems to override any changes I make at the start of the midi tracks.

When you import a MIDI file the tempo events in that MIDI file are imported too of course. If you don't want (some of) these tempo events, remove them from the tempo track after importing the MIDI file.

Dont forget to re-save it once you have edited it else it will happen every time you load that midi file

The midi file had 6 different tracks in it. I spent a few hours last night editing it all into a new project.
