Why do you need 3 DAWs? I'm not being a smartass, just curious why it takes 3. I use Reaper and only Reaper, which is plenty good enough to get done what i need to do. Maybe you're doing more elaborate stuff than I am.

But, my reason was I bought the DAWs around the same time on sale when I was just getting back into computer music and wanted to properly evaluate them over a year or so. Now I've just got used to using all of them for different things and sometimes it keeps things fresh to rotate.

As soon as I go to insert the mDrummer plugin in Ableton Live or Reaper. With Bitwig just the plugin crashes as I have the "plugins run in isolation" setting. In Studio One I can select the plugin and add it to an instrument track OK, but when I click to view the plugin UI it crashes my DAW.WasteLand wrote: Thu Jul 09, 2020 2:31 pmtried MDrummer in ableton live 10.1.5 suite, bitwig studio 3.2.4, reaper 6.x (latest), cubase pro 10.5, no probs:WatchTheGuitar wrote: Thu Jul 09, 2020 1:45 pm And just to add to the fun, it killed my Ableton Live 10 too.

So, as we both have latest versions of everything and Windows 10 - what PC spec and graphics card have you got?
I've got a AMD Ryzen 7 3700x with 32 GB RAM and an NVidia 1080 GPU.

yes, specs, i had the same thought, an i7-6700K (bought a half year before AMD came with their revolution, but motherboard was dead, decided also to upgrade cpu... o well, doesn't matter, i doesn't limit my way of working, no freezing or other things, yet), 32 GB ram and a Nvidia gtx 1060 6gb.WatchTheGuitar wrote: Thu Jul 09, 2020 2:45 pmAs soon as I go to insert the mDrummer plugin in Ableton Live or Reaper. with studio drivers, latest me thinks.
windows up to date (2004).
so besides different motherboard, you have an AMD. i thought first, it could be the video card, but although you have the big brother, we can rule it out, not 100% of course.
other things can also interfere. virusscanner one time, after days of troubleshooting, even disabling scanner, only full deinstall. and all worked fine again. so i check now first virusscanners.. if the problems does not feel related to video, or other stuff.
something installed in the time you installed 14.07?

That didn't help. I just double checked an it's only mDrummer that's causing me the crashing issue. No problems with the other Melda plugins I have tested.
Wasteland, what's your Windows build (in Windows Update >> (related links on right) OS Build info) ?
Mine reports as 19041.329 (it's Win 10 Pro x64)

virusscanner? and yes first try, other melda plugins, they use the same framework.
if they don't crash, i didn't check how much memory MDrummer occupies, i have set it around 10Gb, and preload 10 seconds or so. something with your memory. no can't be it, MDrummer starts without samples (but if you save settings while there are samples, it will recall that state).

I will see if there are any logs anywhere. Windows Event viewer was of no help.
Thanks for looking btw. Appreciate it.

Just an update - the only way I managed to get this working was to entirely delete all Melda plugins from everywhere then downgraded to a 14.05 install, which seems to work fine.
Will try 14.08 whenever it's released to see if any issue I was having has been fixed.

Seems there's a 14.08 beta available at https://www.meldaproduction.com/downloads , but the link in there to 'changes' links to a doc that only mentions the changes in 14.07 and earlier, so I'm not bothering downloading it on spec.
