Yep, so does here now, I probably tried during a site update or smth. On to testing!

Nils Schneider wrote: Sat Jul 11, 2020 12:24 amMy initial idea was to finish VST3 first and then use the VST3 => AU wrapper of the VST SDK. But as Steinberg completely messed up MIDI in VST3 and imcreased the overall complexity I decided to do the AU implementation from scratch instead. This will take some time.
Will there be a VST2.x version? I’m interested but can’t use VST3 yet, as Reason only supports VST2.x so far.

Excellent news about the mac version in the works. I'm waiting patiently ... :)

Yes, Mac VST2 will even come first before AU

What a lovely synth, I don't have anything that would get me (easy) access to these kinds of sounds, and I've even considered getting an old hw keyboard but they simply take too much space for my current studio room. Thanks a lot! Will put the donate button to use once my bank account recovers from the damned pandemic.

This synth is fantastic.

I can really believe that I have a hardware module sitting on my desk - but its software.

Who needs pristine digital when old 8 bit sounds this great.

Its digital but sort of analogue at the same time.

Post

That hardware also ran software of course. :P

Well that gets us into the old hardware versus software - digital versus analogue - and now the virtual ZOOM world versus the real world.

But personally I will always prefer steam trains to electric.

Even though technically they both use wheels powered by an engine.

That's so very unecological from you :P

Ah, I never thought about ecology.

Well then I guess you win as loads and loads of hardware synths can be run using software on a computer for very little electricity.

So if a digital emulation of a hardware digital synth which is really software is run through a digital computer and emerges through hardware cable into a tube amp and enters the real analogue world is it still digital ?

Or because its now heard in the real analogue world is it now real analogue ?

Which brings us back to Nils K1 which I think is fab.

Post

Then it's digital but processed with an analog tube amp. :D

Wow, just learned about this free plug-in. I owned a K1 when they first came out in the late 80's and do miss it. Looking forward to trying this out.
