Ovox is great.wagtunes wrote: Thu Jul 16, 2020 11:14 amNever mind, I know what you're talking about now. That "duck call" is actually me singing through Waves OVox. It is a really cool FX plugin for vocals.Music Bird wrote: Thu Jul 16, 2020 9:37 am I like the synth brass and duck call synth in the intro. Where are those sounds from? Gives me Midnight Star and Dazz Band vibes (from the 80’s though).

Excellent song, i very much enjoyed it. Nice melodys. The mix great. I'm looking at Vocaloid now.
The third disco song:
Not really my cup of tea i think. I wouldn't've known this is disco if you hadn't said. However i wasn't alive in the seventies!
The fourth disco song:
Again not my cup of tea, and seems a bit long.
So 2 out of 4 so far for me.![]()

7th track from my upcoming CD "Disco Everywhere"
So I'm thinking to myself, "What KC & The Sunshine Band song should I rip off?" And then I realized, it doesn't matter. They all sound the same.
So here I am doing my own rendition of KC & The Sunshine Band, with a few Wagtunes twists. I think I did a nice job on this even if it isn't all that original.
Mama Don't Raise No Fool
Late at night
Out on the backstreets
Lookin' for a fix
Ladies there
Sellin' their sweet treats
Turnin' all their tricks
Mama don't raise no fool
Mama don't raise no fool
So I stay away from there
Cause it ain't cool
Morning comes
Out in the dumpster
Bodies fallen fast
Didn't see
Guns all a blazing
No way they could last
Repeat Chorus 2x
Instrumental Break
Repeat Chorus 2x
Outro

Enjoying the 5th song. Like the sax. Nice romantic lyrics. The strings are excellent, is that your new string plug?
12 songs is generous enough for a disco album, Wagtunes.
Enjoying the 6th song. The tuba is good fun. I might make a track with some fun tuba. I did make a track with tuba but it was serious, done with the low registers. What do you use for drums Wagtunes?
The 7th track. haha "they all sound the same". I think it's my ears but i thought i heard a swear-word on the second line. Like the cowbell, and again the strings. I don't have much to be critical these three songs Wagtunes. Is that a different vocaloid voice? Sounds good. I enjoyed these lyrics.

Thanks for the listen and feedback. I'll try to answer some of your questions.Spring Goose wrote: Fri Jul 17, 2020 9:33 am Enjoying the 5th song. Like the sax. Nice romantic lyrics. The strings are excellent, is that your new string plug?

Strings - I have been using 2 different string libraries for this album.
8Dio Intimate Strings
VSL Chamber Strings
Most songs are a combination of the two.
Drums - This project has been a combination of the following
MODO Drums
Kontakt 70s Drums
Battery Samples
3rd Party Samples
I've been trying to mix it up so it's hard to keep track of what drums are on what song.
Background Vocals - With the exception of the 2nd track, which was all Vocaloid, background vocals are all Realivox Ladies by Realitune. Oh, and there were no swear words in these songs. Lyrics are all posted so you can go through them.
One last thing. You've probably noticed a lot of brass and sax in this CD. If you want really realistic brass and woodwinds check out Warp IV. It's expensive but worth every penny. Nothing else even comes close.

Thanks for answering my questions Wagtunes. No problem about the listen and feedback, your songs are easy to listen to and usually not too long (unlike mine
).
)
Thanks.
But i am interested in those vocal plugs, but they are a bit pricey to make it to my wishlist yet. Top of my list is a Zoom H4N Pro, so you might hear my voice yet!
Yeah i know. I thought i heard a swearword then i checked the lyrics. I was just pointing out the possibility that somebody might think they hear a swearword on the second line of this song (trying to be helpful i waswagtunes wrote: Fri Jul 17, 2020 10:49 am there were no swear words in these songs. I'm just interested, Wagtunes. I haven't outgrown NI yet (i'm no way near exploring all of U.E. yet).wagtunes wrote: Fri Jul 17, 2020 10:49 am If you want really realistic brass and woodwinds check out Warp IV.

Which DAW do you use Wagtunes? Do you use anything else for post production? I'm just taking an interest.
I use Bitwig since not very long ago, and also i use Wavelab for mastering. I love Wavelab, it's always a pleasure to use!

I use Cubase. Everything I do is inside Cubase. No need for anything else other than all the plugins I bought, of which I have way too many.Spring Goose wrote: Fri Jul 17, 2020 11:38 am Which DAW do you use Wagtunes? Do you use anything else for post production? I'm just taking an interest.

8th track from my upcoming CD "Disco Everywhere"
This song is a total enigma. Comparing it to a typical song of mine...
Performance - Good
Mix - Good
Arrangement - Good
Vocals - Good
And yet, eh. The song doesn't even drag. The 3 minutes plus actually goes by rather quickly. It's just, eh. I don't know what it is, whether it's just too formula, or too robotic or the melody just sucks. Maybe the chord structure is too complex.
All I know is, this looked good on paper but when I finished it, it was just eh. I can't pick out anything that stands out as being awful but the song in general is just, eh.
Hopefully, somebody here will tell me why this is my least favorite song on the CD because technically, I have no idea.
Anyway, here it is for anybody who wants to listen. I won't be terribly upset if you all pass this one up. Hopefully, the next one will turn out better.
The River Runs Dry
And the tears fall
Right down from the sky
The innocence lost
The innocence died
And everyone's waiting
For signs from on high
But there's only silence
As Angels they cry
And so I go down to that barren lake
Waiting for the Lord my soul soon to take
But I will not cry
I watch as the river runs dry
It had to be
There was no way out
We made our own beds
We then did without
And everyone's waiting
For signs from on high
But there's only silence
As Angels they cry
Repeat Chorus
Nearing the end
Never again
Time now to go
The end of the show
Repeat Chorus
Outro
