Wow... 'stole the money out of my account'. That is a pretty serious but IMHO completely inappropriate accusation if they have offered a refund straight away, for a mistake that doesn't even seem to be toneboosters fault at all. It does seem that this issue is one for Paypal.

Obviously something went wrong somewhere, and implying that he earns his living by scamming people is out of order. He's one of the most legit people in the industry and remains one of my favourite developers. Your experience isn't going to stop me from supporting him in the future, and it shouldn't stop anyone else either.

This 'You can review this order before buying' screen has happened to me a few times and the payment gone immediately (but not related to Toneboosters). Paypal has it´s own bugs..

Well since we can only go on what you and Jeroen have written in this thread I think you're being a huge dick.

He's offered you a refund. What more would you like ? This sounds like it's just an unfortunate glitch in the system and that you're way over reacting.

I could maybe understand if this was a developer that had a history of dodgy practices but I've never read of anyone else who has had problems with him in the past. Jeroen has always been well respected.

This is a PayPal account setup issue.
Yes it is likely there's some Paypal setup issue happening here. We've followed up with our payment processor and they gave the same response.
This is such a slimey get out clause.

It's like Amazon putting me on Prime again for the fifth f**king time this month when I buy something. NO I don't want f**king Amazon Prime.

You shift blame for this 'mishap' by pointing the finger at 'Paypal Setup Issues', but at the same time take it so personally and hit out at your so-called loyal customers who have been affected by this.

Which is it Jeroen?

Did Paypal fuckup?

Or did your loyal customers f**k up?
Considering how many things I've managed to buy from Amazon without inadvertently being subscribed to Prime I'm going with "loyal customer f**ks up"

@codec_spurt so you're using VPN when buying through PayPal? If it's the case then I suppose that you're aware that it's a breach of contract and you can't do much while filling complain to PayPal's Customer Service because they'll point it out.
The second thing is if somehow you're automatically put into Amazon Prime and PayPal took your money automatically then either it's your settings or bug in PayPal (if PayPal is also used to pay for Prime subscription) or you have an issue with your PC/Mobile (some malicious software?).
The third thing is better to check who's your VPN provider. Not every company can be trusted and some are scam and malicious.
The fourth thing is it's obvious that the fault is on PayPal or on your side (if you have some malicious crap on your PC) so acting as you do here, accusing the developer of fraud and acting like 10 years old angry kid doesn't make you any favour.

I don't know what to write here that won't be censored, as I can only speak in profanity.
