Does anyone on here know when the Realitone Stay at home sale is ending? I'll e-mail them and ask but for now might as well ask here.
EDIT: Ends sometime in august

After a while they told me they couldn't sell it outside the US due to Steinberg's policy and that they never charged me in the first place.e@rs wrote: Sat Jul 18, 2020 5:36 am Anybody from outside US managed to receive the Cubase 10.5 update serial bought from Sweetwater?

If you are on a PC, v9 still works fine. I doubt v10 will be obsolete any time soon since they still support v9. That said, if you are Apple and let them keep updating your OS which breaks stuff and forces plugin makers to have to fix stuff to make things still work? Well, part of the Apple tax is paying the WUP.monomox wrote: Fri Jul 17, 2020 3:50 pmme tooimrae wrote: Fri Jul 17, 2020 3:36 pm Hmm, for ages Waves had that 40% off sale with a free plugin at $50 spend. It would have cost me just under $50 to upgrade my Gold + stuff to Gold + RennMaxx (lifting one of my remaining v9 licenses to v11), and impossible to put anything else in the cart at the same time. (This isn't advertised, you have to play around with the cart system to find out.) Therefore no way to combine that upgrade (which is itself mostly just a cheaper way to WUP) with the freebie.
I notice that the freebie plugin threshold has dropped to $40! That seems promising, head back to the site and... now my upgrade would cost $63. Meh, too much for what I'd get out of it. (i.e. the option to install the Berserk freebie with a reduced risk of breaking things.)
I'm tired of this stupid mini-game.
WUP and the jump from v10 to v11 for no significant reason has had a chilling effect on me... I have a ton of their plugins and some of them have been my go-to for certain applications, but now I think twice before inserting them since they have all the power to make v10 obsolete at any moment. It's clear that their business model is not about the initial sale, but subsequent WUP renewals and I'm not up for that game

They're that not many physically modelled vst instruments on the market. AAS and their Tassman instument models are about the only alternatives I could think of.Calenberger wrote: Fri Jul 17, 2020 7:51 pmEnough alternatives...v1o wrote: Fri Jul 17, 2020 7:36 pmModo Drum? Don‘t wanna step into a „Who‘s the dumb ass“ discussion, therefore I‘ll leave it as I already said. Who wants to justify his investments as extraordinary shall do so. Not my favorite waste of time, sorry.

You're right, I could relax. But... don't we all need a plugin company to hate? I need to focus my neurosis on something my dude.dzilizzi wrote: Sat Jul 18, 2020 4:50 pmIf you are on a PC, v9 still works fine. If there is, I couldn't find one. Years ago there was (I bought the upgrade to 9.5 at audiodeluxe two years ago, I think?) but I searched and searched and found nothing. Sorry.

With the site down since Thursday 9th it’s not looking great. Who knows, maybe the lockdown has pumped loads of cash into their web sales and they can afford to miss operating for a couple of weeks. Probably fared better than most other retailers who rely on selling physical product face to face.

More like $20 when buying from the EU, but good to know it doesn't work. Strange how it's cheaper for the US although it's a German companysqigls wrote: Sun Jul 19, 2020 12:21 amjust buy it from Steinberg. it's about $5 dearer than sweetwater.e@rs wrote: Sat Jul 18, 2020 6:35 pmThanx for the reply!
