I really like the Mosky Obsessive Drive, looks like their stuff can hit and miss.khanyz wrote: Sat Jul 18, 2020 3:57 am @The Noodlist: How quiet is the Cheeky Pint?
EDIT: After receiving a Mosky pedal, I can’t really recommend them as the quality is below par. That’s comparing to an Xvive pedal.
Anyway, I hope this can help you with your decision.
Ceramic neck humbucker 8K > Landlord Cheeky Pint compressor all maxed out > MOTU Traveler MK1 Hi-Z input > ADAT > RME HDSP 9632 > Studio One 3 (48 kHz/24-bit).
Yamaha RBX 260 bass, tone rolled of fully. Same as above (noisy bass, it has wiring issues).
Gtrs and drums > send > Arturia Rev plate-140
Exported mix, normalised, then uploaded.
I let one guitar reveal the noise at the beginning and end, all 3 are on extreme compression settings. I was sat in front of PC and monitor.
Cheeky Pint direct
Edited, neck not bridge pup.
New audio - empty 2 bus - removed dither and Limiter (inserted just as a precaution). Used S1 dither

OK, gorgeous tones, gorgeous playing, and gorgeous song...EXCEPT for that weird bit reduction sound! Did the TapeDither plugin do that?

I dunno, I'll try TB Dither v3.
I've suffered from severe tinnitus 24/7 for almost 40 years, along with congested ear issues. My hearing varies from day to day.

Do you record at a higher sample rate? I'm surprised you need to dither at all. What DAW are you using?

Studio One 3.6, usually record at 44.1 kHz/24-bit or 48 kHz/24-bit.Uncle E wrote: Sun Jul 19, 2020 1:40 am Do you record at a higher sample rate? I'm surprised you need to dither at all. What DAW are you using?
Might it be my ADAT settings?
I've disabled dithering in S1. Export at 44.1 kHz/16-bit. Could I export at 48Khz @ 24 Bit Depth?

Maybe turn on S1's own dithering and turn off the plugins, then upload a version? Then we can hear if that noise is from the dithering at all. I listened to "Ting", the recording you posted in your "Just noodlin" thread last September, and did not hear this noise.

Thanks for that, the level of noise is acceptable so will get the Cheeky Pint once the current round of orders is sorted. At £30 it seems a good deal. The Noodlist wrote: Sun Jul 19, 2020 1:13 am I let one guitar reveal the noise at the beginning and end, all 3 are on extreme compression settings. On Mosky quality, I also ordered a FuzzFace from the same seller and it looks much better, with the sockets flush and everything tight. It may have just been a dodgy one, but it being my first Mosky does skew my impression some.
... Some Time Later ...
The Mosky Fuzzface sounds good but there is some noise with it. This disappears when set to full fuzz so could be just a cheap potentiometer. I’m going to test further.
Overall, not really impressed with Mosky. Still got the Crunch Red to come but won’t order any more.

Didn't notice at first (still oughta RTFM) but the foot switch is pressure sensitive (like the newer tc electronic pedals).cptgone wrote: Thu Jul 16, 2020 5:55 pmArrived today, sporting the Mooer logo (unlike the ad pics!), in a Mooer box, including warranty card.cptgone wrote: Sat Jul 04, 2020 6:35 pm Ordered a no-brand Mod Factory MkII mini-pedal from Amazon for a mere €34,02 (was the last unit though).
Looks like the Mooer of the same name. Amazon lists "Bnineteenteam" as brand.
Offers chorus, flange, trem, phase, vibra, rotary, liquid, autowah, stutt, ring, low bit effects.
One for the synth pedalboard :8
Seems I got a bargain.
Nice features (tap tempo, tempo LED, blend mode) and some of the effects seem useful (wasn't using the best of test sound sources though so who knows; ring mod didn't impress at first sight).

Just realised the Landlord PDF shows LEF-333 in the top of browser tab, the same as the Rowin compressor. Yep, looks like they're the same, if the PDF is anything to go by, even though the toggle functions are described as different.khanyz wrote: Fri Jul 17, 2020 9:50 am The Landlord FX A Cheeky Pint Compressor Pedal looks good, though could be a rebranded Donner Ultimate Comp/Rowin Comp et al. which are much cheaper.

^ Cool, that saves me £10. Thanks for the info. The LEF-333 is also branded as Fame for DV247.
There’s also the Rowin LN-333 which seems the same but in a different case.

It's a "soft touch" type switch, smooth.
