Hi,
thanks for the link. But i have still questions. I must confess, i don't understand the logic in MDrummer: e.g. i want to edit a loop/Rhythm. I am in the Rhythm Editor Page see screenshot.
Where can i hit play while editing the selected (intro)loop? I would like to edit the intro loop while it is repeated (cycle) and not switching to another one (beat)
In the Loop Selector key C#1 (red color) is selected. I would like to play it in cycle whilst editing. I don't see a play command exept the play arrow above in the Playback section, but this is not what i want. I can't even select the (red) C#1 key with my keyboard, if i press it, C#3 is selected.

Up on the left In Rhythm Generator is the 'Base Rhythm' directory. Base Rhythms are merged with the Essential Beat when generating Rhythms. The ride you're hearing is part of the Base Rhythm selected. Click on 'root' to see (and hear) 'Empty base rhythm'. Base Rhythms are usually cymbals, hats, percussion.
Rhythm Editor> Additional> Advanced> Turn off Sequencer mode.
Now the loopbox (key) you select will repeat while you edit without jumping (sequencing) to another box (key).
Re keyboard C#1> C#3, keep in mind that note names are relative whereas note numbers are absolute....Middle C is always note number 60 but is named C3, C4, or C5, depending on various conventions. That low C# intro key in MD is note number 1 (whatever its name). You might have to use the transpose button on your keyboard to get down that far. But you can just select the key in MDrummer then hit the MD play button. And eventually when using MIDI commands in DAW MIDI editor you enter the appropriate notes.

hi goldglob,
thanks! Very well explained! There are sooo many options and dependencies (sometimes in hidden menus), that influenced the result of playing (or not) the different rhythns. MDrummer has a deep learning curve, you pointed me on the right track!

Yes it's deep and wide. It took me ages to even start to understand it. I did a lot of pencil and paper "options and dependencies" diagrams that ended up looking like spagetti. I've always seen it as an enjoyable challenge rather than something to 'get down' overnight...click on everything...hover over things and use F1 to read the info..try to clarify in your mind the terminology and hierarchies..what is the actual meaning of 'Rhythm', 'beat/break/etc', 'loopbox/level', 'loop index' (variations within loopbox), 'loop', 'track'? ....and see the hierarchy there. And in the DRUMSET editor...what is the meaning of 'drumset', 'component', 'drumtype', 'velocity layer', 'layer source'?...again, see the hierarchy. So many things, so many angles.
