So, anyone still using Novation V-Station?

I don't use it since years, because I don't like the sound. But if they would bring a good (!) Supernova plugin, I would buy and use it!

VS is like many other softsynths from that time, if you run the project at 88.2+ the top end opens up and the synth comes alive and sounds fantastic.
Handling VS from the Kore is just as good as the KS in the x-station if not better.
If it's really gone from the internets, then it just became that much more valuable to me...

What a shame it's gone. I'll definitely be holding onto mine, it's a great little synth. I actually bought mine from a shop, on CD in a DVD case. I think it was about Au$59, which was a bargain.

V-station is like to rediscover late 90s-early 00's electronic music, default patches didn't show well how useful this machine is.
If you don't have artist touch to show you hidden beauty of a interesting synth people may not appreciate it at all,tb303 story is best example for that, something not received very well then become a legend

Legend or not, the 303 is still the shittiest sounding synth I've ever owned. It's only because someone else was so disgusted with the sound that they decided to run it through a distortion pedal that it became famous. Still, I bet no-one remembers which distortion unit it was but, for whatever reason, everyone knows it was a 303.

Just re-installed V-Station after not having used it for a while. Latest verison i found in the Novation account is v2.6 which includes both a 64-bit VST2 and 64-bit VST3 plugin. A new authorization was necessary but this worked nicely and very fast.

Actually, the big advantage of such old soft synths for me is the lack of top end, lol.acYm wrote: Wed Jul 22, 2020 11:25 pm VS is like many other softsynths from that time, if you run the project at 88.2+ the top end opens up and the synth comes alive and sounds fantastic.

This entirely factual and somewhat useful post without a controversial word in it has been voted down by two people. Why?Ingonator wrote: Thu Jul 23, 2020 8:44 am Just re-installed V-Station after not having used it for a while. Dunno why this voting system was introduced in the first place. It's not like it's something useful for the end user. Maybe for mods?buzz1 wrote: Thu Jul 23, 2020 9:52 amThis entirely factual and somewhat useful post without a controversial word in it has been voted down by two people. Why?Ingonator wrote: Thu Jul 23, 2020 8:44 am Just re-installed V-Station after not having used it for a while. I find it very useful when I want to agree or disagree with someone but everything I would have to say on the subject has already been said by others.

How was this post in any way useful to anyone? It is all about the guy posting and has nothing whatsoever to offer to anyone else. It's like someone posting what they had for breakfast on Facebook.buzz1 wrote: Thu Jul 23, 2020 9:52 amThis entirely factual and somewhat useful post without a controversial word in it has been voted down by two people. Why?

So people disagree that version 2.6 of V-Station is the latest version, and that it is 64-bit VST2 and VST3, and that there is a new authorization process involved. Makes sense.BONES wrote: Thu Jul 23, 2020 10:44 am I find it very useful when I want to agree or disagree with someone but everything I would have to say on the subject has already been said by others.
Don't fool yourself, it's a popularity contest, nothing more nothing less.

The authorization process was already there in older versions like e.g. v2.4 but currently it is still working properly here.chk071 wrote: Thu Jul 23, 2020 11:32 am and that there is a new authorization process involved. Makes sense.
The process is started in the plugin when it is opened and leads you to a Focusrite website where you enter your e-mail and the serial and/or redeem code.
Actually i did not receive an e-mail but instantly got a download for the license key file. That key file then had to be loaded with the corresponding button in the plugin GUI and then the authorization was finished.
The latest download was found in my Novation account.
